halo is sat…gonna be a lot of people, no time
I am not happy about this last mintue change on things. No wonder people got pissed that were coming out of state last time things got changed and no wonder people from out of state dont show anymore. People work and have plans,changing things at the last mintue dosen’t work for all people okay?

I’m not real sure why on 2 message boards I’m reading that people are just now looking at when these tournaments are or why they think we are changing things. These dates have been posted WITHOUT CHANGE for like a month and a half. Sure, we are tweaking dates in general to accomodate demand, but that doesn’t mean these changes are being made at the last second or anything. It’s all up on familyfuncenter.net/tournaments each and everytime guys, always has been. But for those who can’t make these because it’s not the last weekend of the month, should be happy because we’re gonna try and go back to that but with entry fees and will continue to share weekends with the console tournaments. Unfortunately, we cannot have free tournaments anymore.
I personally have no problem with entry fee’s, i never have actually. I think the real problem is that all the 3S/Guilty players are used to having our tournaments on saturday or sunday, that’s what we’re used to, that’s what pretty much all of us have our schedules accomodated to. So many of us either work/have class/ or what not on fridays and don’t normally even get to the center until 9 or 10 on fridays.
I don’t think it’s too much to ask to keep the tournaments at a convinient time for the guys who play Guilty and 3S. As far as I know no one really has any problems with going to an entry fee format as long as the center is going to continue to provide us with tournaments every month. The core group of guilty and 3s players are at the center almost every weekend if not every weekend, and it takes all of us being able to make it for a tourney to go down (8 or more). I’ve been driving 2 hours from Des Moines for over a year and half now just to come play at the center you know? I’d hate to think the center can’t be willing to be a little flexible on something like the time for the tournmanets for some of it’s most loyal customers.
Don’t take this as an insult or a complaint about how the center works, I (and im sure the other players as well) appriciate the effort you guys put out in keeping us with the latest games and good sticks/machines. I just hope you’ll continue to give that same effort when it comes to offering monthly tournaments for us at times we can all handle.
I have no prob with the fee,so its cool on that.
I agree with Klaige,me him and Simon (Jon and Brain too) are the out-of-towners that have to travel to them. So as long as the dates go back,I will keep the last weekend off of work. Otherwise I will just tell them I can work any weekend. Plus I do appricate the torneys the FFC holds too. I can’t count how many times I get told by out of state people Ne is lucky to have a arcade to go to and tourneys to play in.
Now I dunno about the apex guys,I have tried and tried to post it and it keeps on failing. I feel bad about not being able right now to do it for ya.
I am a OP on the new goforbroke 2 and possibly run the hub after I get my new comp. So any jap vids or others you know of and don’t have let me know,I bet I can dig them up :tup:
hmmm well what you guys arent seeing either though is that we have the other tournies on sat and sunday because it gives us more time. Games like smash and halo get big turnouts, but i’m not so sure we’d even have 8 for gg or 3s. I mean for real though , since they are no longer free its almost not even worth it, its almost just a waste of time. i know for sure that ME , jamarr, datrick , travis , kris and mario would pay to play gg, but i dunno who else whould so that leaves with only 6 and thats not worth a tournie. Smash had 40 something or first time and our second 30 something. I mean i love guilty and SF but its just not that big here, i wish it were but its not,so untill we can start getting more peps that wanna play i’m sure it’ll stay this way
I honestly cannot think of a worse way to let our guilty scene die than by having halo and smash take it over. Why not have guilty at the same time as smash, or halo? Get some people interested in guilty and 3S and show them what the top level of the FFC is all about. I understand it gets busy with that much going on but it’s not like we don’t have people willing to help run tournies. Hell I would run the fighting game tournies if the FFC would be ok with it. It’s not terribly difficult to make a bracket, collect entry fees and divy out prizes you know?
I haven’t been coming out all this time just to see the scene in nebraska die out when were just getting headstrong into #R and 3S is on the come up in terms of popularity. If things turn out this way then we at the very least need to plan some console tournies at someones crib for all of us wanting to stay on top of our game for Evo this year.
I’m just thinking out loud, there has to be some ways to get this figured out so we can keep things going for whats left of the fighting game scene.
By all means someone please pony up some more ideas/thoughts on this subject.
i have to agree w/ david…and you all know the center is going to do whats best for business…its all whatever though…regardless im still gonna be up there every weekend…playin whatever it is we play…but at the same time the center should look at for the regs…im not saying every month…but maybe every other…it dont matter though cuz i play smash to :)…
you do know it does take effort for the out of town people to show up,the time and the drive is not easy to do every weekend. Plus at least for me I have kids,so I have to get a babysitter first then have time off of work,drive in then have to drive back. Plus weather plays a big factor with that too. I am sure Klaige will agree with me on the time,drive and weather facts (not the kids one yet 
)
you know,it seems like there is little care for the people who have to make more of a effort to show,hopefull I am wrong on this. Mabye I won’t show up any more (getting tired of things) then and just stay home or better yet,if Klaige can get some console things going where he lives,I will go over there for a change and see the scene there.
Plus it’s respect to try to go over since he has gone to Ne so many times.

Why do the halo and smash tournaments have to be on the same weekend as the street fighter tournaments? If it’s too much to run them all in the same weekend, see if they will split it up… like have the smash and halo tournaments the last weekend of the month and the SF/GG tourneys the weekend before… Don’t let the scene die though, it did down here… We have two arcades here: The Family Fun Center (don’t let the name fool you, it is nothing like the one there) The newest game it has is like Tekken 2 and everything else is Namco, plus the place closes at 9 every night. The second arcade is the Tilt at the mall (also closes at 9) The machine that Guilty Gear X2 (not reloaded) is in used to be a basketball game, and the buttons are not lined up with the joystick and it’s horrible. The Stargate closed in Houston and Einstein’s in Austin no longer has CVS2 and the arcade is about as big as my bathroom. I don’t know what my point was through all that rambling, but you guys should be able to do something so that there can be tournaments for everybody.
That’s a nice thought stacey but unfortunatly I am the 2D fighting game scene for Iowa, nobody plays Street fighter here, theres just a very small batch of tekken players up in cedar rapids and other than that this state is completely dead. There arne’t even really arcades here, just pool halls that happend to have some broken arcade machines in them.
