Yes, the NW needs to get something going. I heard that people were following TW in cali which is pretty cool. Here is an interview with Cole that i found:

he talks about Afro Dojo, and it sounds like something i have wanted for a while. can someone explain what is going on with it and when it may open?
I think the easiest way to explain it is I THINK Cole wants to kinda be like what Valle and SHGLS down in SoCal have going on. Get everyone together and play crap loads of games and have everything get dissected.
that sounds great. i honestly think that is the best way for us to level up in the Northwest.
You guys have to understand that these things take time to build. Like this isn’t the first norcal regional, evo 2k9 wasn’t the debut of the event. It’s great to see the hunger there and the inspiration from watching the norcal stream or even being @ the event. But we can’t be all gung-ho and just dive into head first w/o starting small, learning from mistakes when the event is still somewhat local will help out in the long run once we really try to go big with. Take tournament wars for example. I learned A LOT from season 1 and am making changes in season 2. Will tournment wars season 1 be bigger than norcal regionals? Hell to the no lol, but down the line it could be, even to the point that tournament wars goes past Seattle, and down to portland or Cali. But it’s gonna take time.
I see i see. i really appreciate your work in the community Frank, even though i havent been making it out to many events lately, i hear all about them. I understand that building the community up is a gradual process and we cant dive right into things. Tournament Wars is a really great start for things to come, and i know for sure that this community in Seattle has many more great things to come.
To add onto what I posted before, the main reason to start out small is when you actually have “the big show” you definately want it to go off with as few hiccups and mishaps as possible. Like look at what happened @ Triple Threat, things like that can quickly turn an event’s (and the person or persons) reputation around in an instant. That’s the main reason why I believe things should go slow, like I mentioned before Tournament Wars is only in it’s first season. There’s been a few mishaps here and there, but it allows me to learn from those things and to apply that towards the future.
And I will keep on doing what I’m doing, it’s a lot of fun (although at times stressful) to run TW’s and to plan ahead for the future. I would love for one day that I can actually turn this into a career or at least a job where I can cut down the hours at my current job.
Well Frank, just so you know, once the NW gets up and running, I’m down to help out with all the streaming and everything.
Especially for NWM next year. That NEEDS to be streamed.
Call me old fashioned, but I’d prefer to have the vids uploaded to youtube with very good quality(if done in a timely fashion), than to have a stream with ok to sub par quality. One of the main issues I have with streams is the “dead time” that happens between matches, or if the dead time is too long. But maybe I’m just goofy like that.
Edit: I also believe that NWM’s needs to be a 2-day event next year. It’ll appeal to more out of towners.
Actually, Frank, the thing that I’m doing is (at least gonna redo since the 360 thing was being bitchy) is to stream out through my laptop and record mega awesome quality through my desktop
Kinda like what IGN/EVO was doing…just not having a 6 month turn around time >< (no offense to the evo guys)
