Well I hear that there’s a single tournament that should be happening…but that is HSP’s event so he’d be the best person to talk to about that. I’m just thankful that he’s allowing the final’s of TW’s to be at his event

I had a good round against Ricky, almost perfecting him was probably the highlight of my NCR experience.^^ Playing Mike Ross in casuals was super fun too, though Honda be damned lol.

Went 0-2 in SF4. I don’t think I know the Sagat or Ricky O match up well enough. I need to play Alix’s Sagat or something.
Went 2-2 in Tekken, ha. Love dat Tekken. Happily surprised that I did that well considering I’m so damn new to the game. Playing a cheap bitch helps.

Definitely dude. I definitely wanted to go and am still pissed my check hasn’t come. But we definitely need to all get together and just play like long rounds of like…first to 5 or something. Cause for me, thats the ONLY way I’m going to get better.
This shit was HYPE! First time I’ve traveled to a major tournament, and it was definitely worth the drive. The finals were ridic, and Saturday and Sunday nights we got to kick it and play some casuals/money matches with a bunch of top players. Aside from all of the good advice/strategies that we learned from these guys, the best thing we got out if it was that me, Carlos and Eman are HUNGRY as fuck now.
James, it was good seeing you again man. We’ll kick it the next time we’re down in Cali for a tourney.
Portland guys, it was good seeing you there repping NW. Hopefully we can get some events up and running soon so you guys can come up.
Just got in, and I’m tired as hell. Gonna catch up on much needed rest. Then, the practice begins :bgrin:
yeah it was a dope experience. Me, Carlos and Mike all did fairly decent in tournament with going 3-2. I had Choi first match which was fun but intimidating. We met up with some Utah guys (Hadoken82- Chun, Puru-Fuerte and Gustavo-Abel) that were all very good. I then money matched Dager G and James L who both made top 8 which was a great learning experience. I end up going 2-3 in a first to 3 with both of them and James L even told me that I was the best Bison he’s ever played. Plus even getting 2 matches and having every round be close with those 2 guys was an accomplishment in itself to me lol Especially considering Dager’s Guile is one I’ve feared since Evo. I then got to play some games with Ed Ma who is honestly one of the best Akumas in the world. That guy taught me more things about that match up in 2 matches than I learned in 6 months. All in all it was awesome everyone was super friendly and yes Ricky Ortiz is god tier.
Also, we need to get our scene together. Both Norcal and Socal are 10x’s hungrier than us. 200+ at a monthly tournament o_0 we need a frudruckers in WA lol

Dude, we, the NW, need to get something big going, like finding venues in both portland and seattle and everything. Try to get some two day things going to try to bring people in like Skill and MarkMan haha.
Future tournaments also need to have internet so we can stream everything! That would make it SO freaking legit.
I’m very glad to see the new people to the scene going to this tournament. A good experience that’ll surely make you better. Going to tourneys outside of the PNW have made me improve alot in games (excluding sf4 and tekken because I suck at both) throughout the years.

^Slash even the Utah guys are looking to come up if we have a big tourney…NCR was an absolutely awesome experience at least for me…playing that high of lvl players for 2 days straight was a wake up call for my appetite. Just watching how Ed Ma played against Eman so methodically and spacing perfect was an eye opener at the lvls that lie above me and where I want to get to. Also having 3 of the top 8 be akumas was pretty cool and gave me insight into some fun new stuff (ShadyK is a mix up genius/Ed Ma and Hsien Chang are so crazy solid for lack of a better word)
But Oregon + Washington + BC could come what…85% close to the size of nor cal and socal
