NC Thread LXVII (67) - RIP MaximumBurst

You host gatherings? May I ask where?

Cary. We don’t really play SGs anymore though.

Gathering is gonna be KoF13 and UMVC3 focused.

What part of the state are you from?

Sounds like there is a loose connection but there’s no way to tell without opening it up and looking at it.

There a reason, or it just stopped being hip?

Not much of a scene for the game. I don’t personally like playing games if there’s no real hope of competing in them. I really just like tournaments and shit so I play the stuff I like that’s also popular.

… That kinda blows. So I have to wait for it to get popular if I want to play people in real life? I finally found a game I wanted to be competitive in and everything. Shoot.

In the area maybe. It’s suppose to be at the ReSe tournament in Charlotte this much. Wonder who will enter.

Sensei Rouzu, I am in Durham. Arstal, due to work I cant make any weekday events, Weekends only for me. On that note, If anyone wanted me to bring VF5:FS to WNB this week, please send me a PM.

My problem is due to my work, it’s impossible to make weekend events.

Skullgirls problem was just too many fighters+ launch gameplay issues. Patch is going to be very good, but probably too late. I’ll double dip and see if it grows a PC comm later. It’s a very deserving game.

I almost forgot guys…but here…you know what time it is!

VF5:FS has to be a gift from whatever religious deity you worship. This game is damn near PERFECT!!! First off, it was FREE, I cant reiterate enough how awesome of a gift that was from Sony and Sega. Also PlayStation users got an EXCLUSIVE Complete Edition which can be bought for $30 which is the full game and BOTH DLC packs, which are HUGE (2GB). Sorry XBOX players but for you all to get everything its gonna cost you $45. But I honestly always looked at VF as a game where you learn ONE character so why do you need all the dress up items, you can buy just your characters items for $5. sigh im getting off my point

anyways

This game is amazing!! I played VF5 pretty heavy and this really wasnt that hard to adjust to. The tutorial isnt anywhere near as robust as the one on VF4:EVO but its very in depth. You can set it to display full frame data and everything. Now I gotta channel my inner Arstal on this one but I gotta say that…

THE NETCODE IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! I mean the netcode for the original VF5 on 360 was pretty butter as well, but they really outdid themselves on this. And this is on PS3 which says a whole lot. I played some matches with some cross country friends and at times you cant even tell youre online. Its that good.

I hate that this series has been tagged with the “budget” label because this package is well worth more than the $15 they ask for it.

Looks like 2k12 saved the best fighters for last.

And this is in a year that included Skullgirls, which would have been the #2 fighter at worst last year.

VF5 isn’t really “free” as I found out recently. You pay for Plus and when that runs out, so does your capacity to play whatever games you got from Plus. I didn’t know that until yesterday, oh well.

I wouldn’t say there’s a strong MB/AH scene, we’re not playing regularly at any rate. Those two games will be at the next Charlotte tournament though apparently. The people that do play BB are also in that area. When Guilty Gear comes back, -that- could be very interesting if you’re into that game too.

Otherwise, the KOF scene is pretty good. I won’t be able to come out to anything this week though probably =/

GGs tonight, guys. Pretty rusty, but still have some fight left in me. The BB was especially fun.

Yeah, that’s the only thing that’s kept me from getting PS+ even with all the free games now… and I only knew about it because I grabbed some free stuff from PSN when Sony gave out the free month of Plus last year.

Agreed about AH3; it had a strong scene (and is still going to pull 8+ for the upcoming ReSe), but it’s kind of died off… not that it ever caught on in Boone. People are actually playing Melty up here though, so that’s cool. I’m hoping its turnout at ReSe is decent, because I really want that game to stay alive at least till GGAC+R comes out. Preferably longer.

Goog Games last night. Gonna work on execution again. Can’t continue to drop combos

Tekken, Raleigh. There’s a group of guys who play so you should come out sometime.
