NC Thread LXVII (67) - RIP MaximumBurst

How much did Pimp Muffin win last night in AE?

$50.00

alright just wanted to know. i think thats good

Well, that didn’t happen. I couldn’t get up with Jon. Could have asked Matt maybe? Didn’t know for sure he was going. :expressionless:

I could start playing some AE again myself, at least if I have nothing else going on. I think Mad said something about a MM last time I was there?

I feel I am more and more fraudulent, is that sounds staged?

practice practice practice…no more xbl

Man I miss Soul Calibur so much.

Or let your subscription run out and don’t renew it like me lol.

I have a very important announcement for the community. One of our founding members has passed away. Michael Stinemire or Maximum Burst as some of you may know him as has passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with you man as you take your rightful place into heaven. For those of you that don’t know him that well in terms of the community he was the one that got me into the competitive scene by driving myself, Lucious, and Rod and a few others to various tournaments up and down the East Coast. He was also a very good player in various games, particularly MvC2, SC, Tekken, and GG and very well thought of in the community. Unfortunately his playing days pretty much ended when his deck collapsed during an epic gaming session as his arms never recovered enough to play and train for extended periods of time. Still nonetheless he continued to give up his time and knowledge to the community. Truly this community and more over the world has lost a great person. We’ll all miss you buddy.

Sorry for the second post but I was planning on hosting a gaming session tomorrow and I still do somewhat. There still will be games if people wish to play but I would like the overall focus to be remembering Michael and just talking about what he’s meant to us. If people want to drop by the start time will be 7 or 8ish. Just pm me if you need directions.

Wow. I, too, got started with travelling because of Stinemire. He would let me stay the night on his couch after sessions just so we could get a head start on goin to VA tourneys. That’s a sad thing to happen. =( He will be missed.

Wtf happened? Dammit.

R.I.P. Mike.

Mike will be remembered, he offered a lot to the community especially before most of the people here even joined the scene. He was a good guy that left us far too soon. Rest in peace

RIP Burst :frowning:

Rest In Peace Mike aka Maximum Burst aka Stine

We had a lot of good times.

Lots of sessions and games; many a day was spent at the old Tilt.

As Erik says, he was instrumental in those first days of preparing & traveling for tourneys, back about 2001.

We’ve shared a pitcher or two at the Back 9 as well.

He was a genuine friend - and he will most definitely be missed.

Rest in peace man. He really sounds like a great guy… I wish I had the chance to meet him.

I spent a lot of time at CyberStation in Crabtree Valley Mall…Stinemire was a regular there and thats how I got to know him…super chill guy and very giving in terms of helping people get better…he was definitely a character at the scene that everyone liked…after CyberStation closed down not seeing him for years he actually came to WNB about 3 weeks ago…we talked about back then and had a few laughs…yup…he will be missed…RIP.

It really sucks that he had to go so soon. I met a couple of people in the scene from going to his place and playing fighting games / yugioh and stuff back in the day. He was a genuinely nice guy and fun to be around, definitely wish he would have stopped by WNB one last time so we all coulda chilled with him. Rest in peace my friend.

wish i could be there to tell stories with you guys…there is no shortage of good ones. lots of hours logged at his house playing games, watching dragonball vhs tapes, wrestling ppv’s… hanging out at tilt or around town. miss you man, feel like shit I didn’t come back in time

Think I’ll drop by.

VHS tapes and I’m assuming “WWF” wrestling ppv’s before the “WWE” switch. You took it back there.

As far back as some of the Durham guys go it wouldn’t surprise me if it were WCW PPVs.
