Are there any gatherings going on during next week? I haven’t heard anything from anyone listed and unfortunately can’t change plans last minute for gatherings posted only a couple of hours prior to.

Outside of meeting new players that tournament sounded like a waste of time. Hopefully you can drag the new players you met out to a real session or tournament.
Honestly, the tournament was fun. I wasn’t happy that I ended up losing, but laggy TV is laggy. Everyone was pretty chill and made a few contacts, hopefully this will help us grow the scene a little more. If I attend the next tourney, I will DEFINITELY be bringing my own non-laggy setup, though. The rules were understandable, given it was a free tournament, though I dunno if a 32-man single-match single-elim Marvel 3 tournament should take 3 and a half hours to finish. Just kinda goes to show how most of the players didn’t really know how to kill their opponents when they got an opening. People were shocked to see my halfway-working Dante doing lag combos for still pretty big damage.
dang i wish i had seen this before now. i will pay more attention next time.
also about bookstore…i told you guys what it was gonna be lol. pretty much the same rules as champp’s. infinite time, no jill/shuma available, single elim, single match. WOOOOOOT!
Blake and I played a match that caused the television to blow up.
as Josiah already said i lost to Jon (grrrrr) and to the tv lol.
nothing against the guys there because there are some nice people but theres ALOT of room for improvement and definitely make yourselves known so you can get involved here.

I don’t know his name but it was akuma tatsu spam + sentinel chip that did me in. Really poor play on my part, didn’t deserve the win for not punishing something so easy to punish.
I could blame the lag on the TV (and rightfully so) but a loss is a loss.
I would say I agree but quite simply that tv was ass. Neither you NOR Blake were able to properly punish that Akuma tatsu spam and you both lost to it. I couldnt even START the Magneto flight cancels on that TV, it just was damn near unplayable.
That was honest to god the worst TV I’ve ever played on. It seriously felt like an entire second of input lag lol. In a game where you have to time everything so precisely and eye all your combos on random hits you get in different situations, that made it pretty hard for me. The worst is dropping your combo, then getting launched lol.
But ehh, we were all playing with the same handicap so I won’t make excuses. Just mad Jos took me out and then went and lost lol.
Although tatsu spam is kinda dumb in lag. It’s not hard to punish in a lagless environment but there… ugh. People seemed cool though but now I just feel dumb talking all the shit and then going there and sucking. I wanted to put on a show. :tdown:
I lost because I choked. The Akuma Tatsu spam was annoying, but I eventually did away with the dude’s Akuma and I was back in control of the match. I just choked hard several times. Lag definitely doesn’t help, but I basically did myself in.

Well, I got beat pretty bad. Couldn’t do much on that T.V. but I will be coming to more stuff from now on. This was my first edward Mckays tournament so I assumed that they had the correct cables and everything… my mistake. We ended up playing friendlies at one of the guys apartments and I did great there (on lag free tvs) but all in all it was nice to meet everyone who came out and fun to talk to you guys, your a pretty chill bunch.
This TV sounds legendary. You guys should have practiced that lag setting in training mode!
Also, I’m running Felicia/MODOK/Dante now. Feels good.

^This right here. Let this be a lesson: practice on 4 bar settings (or below) to prepare for tournaments.
You guys now have a choice: You can keep complaining, or you can face the truth, man up, and blame your losses on your failure to practice under the patented Lag Simulator that Marvel 3 has to offer. But you can’t blame it on the T.V. anymore as the opportunity to overcome it was there for you from the start.
I, for one, am disgusted and ashamed of your poor performance. Hopefully now you all feel adequately humbled and will go on to learn some godlike lag simulated strats from the new frenz’ you made.
Agreed. Next month I will be playing ammy/tron/phoenix at this ‘tournament’, phoenix teleports is top tier lag strategy.
SeventhFonan told me to tell you that we are playing T6 because I have a friend, and in some ways it might be a good thing but unfortunately he isn’t able to really “get” the 2d fighters but is pretty good and loves/enjoys the 3D stuff so anyway i’m bringing him up there and that’s his game, i’ve been teaching him every week and kind of want him to practice against other people that know more about the game.
Edit: I guess he already told you but yea i’m looking to run dedicated T6 for sure because my one friend said he will also bring a setup.
