I switched up Skeletor for Cap on account of Desk discovering the SS infinite. I’m actually learning different setups with the infinite as well as a bag of other combos with Magnus and Sent.
Did not respect Magneto getting bodied in FR so I’m playing him more in response to Marn’s fuck up.
I maxed at 4 reps myself, after which her S would invariably come out. So…maybe they did fix it, or I’m just not doing it fast enough consistently…at the 5th rep lol.
It was a pleasure formally meeting some of the newer guys finally. Sometimes all it takes is a third party saying “Have you met this person?”. So thanks to Sam and Roski for doing that, and nice to meet Jimmy, Austin and Duncan.
I found a Doom corner combo that does 700k before the super, no assist. I think that’s the highest damage I’ve seen on any Doom combo pre-super. I’m still tweaking it, but I’m gonna put dis shit on youtube.
Rod: It was good to meet you too! You should come to the next Lucky’s and play some Marvel.
Edit:
If anyone wants something to hate on, go watch the Filipino Champ interview. I like it when that dude says things in public. He’s a dickwad, and full of himself. Not to mention he looks like E.T. to me. Someone needs to throw that fucker a bag of Reese’s pieces.
I can count around 15ish Arcana Players, Brandino and I discussed this and the problem is more of how serious the Arcana players are at getting better/coming out to stuff. If we go off forum posting and the hotel gathering it felt as though MVC3 clearly was more popular but because of the possibility that people said “oh i’ll get in on Arcana later since we have all night” that maybe more people would have played there so it might not be the best indicator.
Myself personally either way i’m just going Arcana as my main and sticking to that like I have been because you know what, playing AH3, MVC3, SSF4, T6 if i’m playing 4 games at the same time you never improve all that much, jack of all trades master of none. I just wish I realized it earlier so I could have been focused on 1-2 games from the start.
I’ll be playing it and I’m pretty sure once it’s a PSN game plenty of people will pick it up just to ‘see what its about’ and we’ll have enough people wanting to see whats up to get a more accurate look at what the overall scene might be like.
Final Round, NEC, and Season’s Beatings. I know most of NC tends to go to these 3 majors. What else do we have? I think I want to try to also go to ECT this year up in NJ. Maybe EVO but that’s still up in the air. I’m going to go to pretty much every Strange Matter tournament since it’s only in VA, and I’m not sure what kinda tournaments they have in SC.
Is anyone else trying to go to ECT in June? I know it’s too early to arrange travel and hotel rooms, but I’m just curious about the interest of doing it.
Yeah that’s me pretty much. I wasn’t going to pay import prices for any fighter. $30 and a positive impression from Andre at Lucky’s who tried to teach me the game, made me want to really give it a shot.
Marvel- my impression from playing is that it’s Hokuto for Americans. I’m just wondering which game is better to put effort into. MK9 I definitely plan to put some effort in ,since that looks fun as hell also- judging from the demo.
I just wish I could travel, but you can’t better at fighters if you can’t afford the games or the gas.
