can’t go to final round. got bodied by the military again 10-0 with this bullshit dorm inspection that i have to be at on friday.
please place in AH3 guys.
no shit. Nice man. Good luck. btw, I am almost done with my modification. I will let you know when it’s done.
This is what Sanford was talking about…
i think my favorite thing about the Sanford video was the “interviewer.” I think he said what everyone was thinking.
i’ll paraphrase like this:
“If the game is so easy, why are you losing?”
Also, in response to the ps3 slowdown, I think I experience it the most if you do dog assist with ice blast, and go into chun’s lightning legs, don’t know if it’s all the levels, but it happens pretty frequently for me. it doesn’t really bother me though, it brings down the insanity level down for a second or two
one last thing, good luck to everyone that is going to Final Round, can’t wait to hear how everything goes. I know it’ll be fun, maybe one of these days I’ll get to go…drive safe!
Nelson- "If the game is so easy then why do you suck at it?"
Sanford- “Cause I have a life.”
That has to be one of the weakest excuses he could have given.
Damnit dude you were supposed to go and win AH3. I had a good feeling about it too.
Can I borrow your Weiss for the weekend?
I don’t really agree with Sanford though. Old players are going to complain about new games. It’s not what they’re used to. Saw it with SF4. Saw it with Brawl. Saw it with SC2. Now we’re seeing with the Marvel.
People spend years of their life grinding execution and then the games get made more accessible and people can win without matches turning into rehearsed training mode repetition, and suddenly these top players are complaining. Good players will win no matter what game is being played, as long as they put the effort into it. Marvel is pretty balanced for the most part IMO so far. Sure it’s easy but isn’t it better that way… so many more people can play and enjoy it now than the training mode junkies in MVC2.
If they made GG easier to play and suddenly all the shit we were doing is now easy, we’d be pissed too. But IMO it’s better for the community and game.
i agree with sanford on the x-factor part tho. whats the point of x factor when hypers are more then enough to comeback. you dont even have to work for your comebacks anymore.
Yeah that much is true. They should have made it also do defense so if the other guy does xfactor you can negate his with your own, so it’s a gamble to just go for it. Level 3 just gets obscene.
Also, random note… I don’t normally like wrestling but this shit is crazy:
El Fuerte all up up in this bitch…
El Fuerte all up up in this bitch…
I see where you’re coming from and I mostly agree (w/ your past couple posts and statues on facebook about MvC3), but any debate or opinion expressed here is completely pointless. Especially if its a negative opinion w/ a game. No one is going to change their mind and if you’re right (or if Sanford’s right) life goes on because “I told you so points” are as worth less as the US dollar in 2008.
In other news…
My FR trip hit a speed bump unless I can hit the bank tomorrow. My bank account locked everything out and sent me new cards (even my CD accounts) to my Winston address. They sent me a letter saying that my accounts have been compromised. Probably a minor setback. I’ll just head up there in the morning and see if I can pull some cash out.
Seen that dude on Univision at work. He’s pretty good. I think he just came back from shredding up his knee.
Sometimes that shit makes me wish I knew Spanish.
BTW MK9 looks impressive- I just hope the gameplay matches up.
GL at FR to those who go.
btw guys, for those of you playing Marvel this weekend. PRACTICE YOUR ANTI SENTINEL STRATS TONIGHT! We’re going to be seeing so many of those fuckers there, figure out if you have an instant overhead on him and figure out the most damage you can get off that. You’re going to need it.
I tested Sentinel’s S extensively. It’s NOT punishable on block by anything I could find. Maybe something super fast with good reach but none of my 3 characters could do shit. Whiff punishing is another story though. If you bait it from outside his range it’s not hard to punish it with dashing A into a combo.
Also, I found a combo with Ammy off an instant overhead j.A that leads to 1 mill with no X factor and 3 bars. Gonna piss some people off this weekend.
Except this isn’t what it’s about. When someone says “it’s too easy to kill characters in Marvel 3”, they’re not talking about how easy the combos are. They’re talking about how easily the damage comes. I’m not a MvC2 expert, but you generally don’t see people dying in one combo frequently in that game, nor do you see stuff like point + assist get caught by stray attack into XFC 100% to kill two characters.
A lot of the complaints about the lowered execution bar in newer games have nothing to do with something as simple as how easy it is to do combos, which is what you seem to think it is. It’s more that the lowered execution bar literally changes the way the game is played. If it were just the same strats with everyone being able to do them more easily, you wouldn’t hear nearly as much complaining. But look at say, Blazblue. Things like longer windows of input and super slow moves (designed to both help newer players and make online play more tolerable) end up screwing over the game at higher levels of play because nobody wants to take risks and there are almost no safe ways to initiate offense with most of the characters. SF4 option selects are another example of how these seemingly innocuous changes, meant to benefit weaker players, end up hurting the game at higher levels.
I’m not saying I agree with Sanford’s viewpoint on Marvel 3, but try to look a little deeper into why top players feel the way they do, rather than just going “BAWHAW U GUYZ R MAD CUZ U CAN’T TRAINING MODE FTW ANYMORE!!!”
Brent do you want me to bring my PS3 to the hotel
Well, on the plus side, if they do wreck two if your characters instantly, you have a third in with level 3 xfactor so you can wreck their shit just as fast. It’s a stupid mechanic for sure but… atleast you can return the favor to them. I think it’s going to be extremely important to protect your assists in this game and not just throw them out willy nilly when shit like that can happen. People just need to adjust I think. I could be wrong but… I want to give it time before passing judgment.
How about if there was no xfactor then and assists didn’t take anemic wheel chair fetus baby defense damage? Would there be any problems with the game?
Well like I said, I don’t necessarily agree with the guys saying this and that are bad about Marvel 3. Just trying to clarify. Most of those guys aren’t so scrubby that they’d complain about the game just because combos are easier to do.
As far as X-Factor being dumb, that’s the way the new stuff goes now. Every new game has to have some kind of comeback mechanic. Like you said earlier, the good players will just learn to deal. People are already just running away from someone with level 3 X-Factor activated, so I don’t think it’s the super-scrubby thing everyone thinks it is. But the game would probably be better without it. It can be really funny though, especially level 3. There are some really dumb shenanigans you can pull with certain characters using level 3 X-Factor.
Also, assists have always taken bad damage, IIRC. The way they function is just slightly different now. There are also almost no invincible AA assists anymore, which is arguably an improvement. You’ve got Haggar, but he gives up red life to do his lariat and you have to have Haggar on your team, which could potentially be really bad. Seems like it’s worth it, though.
Yeah this weekend will prove whats best and whats not. Outside of whatever Justin is playing of course.
Haggar assist does seem really good but if you stay away from the other guy, Haggar won’t be super useful outside of right up in their face. Plus you can atleast duck him. Definitely a good assist, but you do end up with Haggar with no assist at the end of the match if they manage to kill your other characters, which is bad. He has trouble just getting around dante missile spam lol.
Also, haggar assist just whiffs on Ammy. So I guess she’ll counter haggar spam teams on top of countering sentinel too lol.
NC’s #1 Scrub here! lol
Angus and everybody else that’s going to FR for SSF4/MVC3, good luck to all of you. Show people the latent power of NC. GET HYPE NIGGA
