Soul Calibur 5 is looking pretty awesome. Hopefully they’re releasing more gameplay vids soon… really interested in seeing how Viola plays.

BTW, did you check out the vid for UMvC3 Zero changes on the front page? The Buster change means Zero can self-OTG into combo now, siiiiiick. Gives you way more variety in terms of team choices.
Yeah man, it’s pretty nice. With the jump loop reduced (only 2 reps possible I believe) that might end up being a more damaging alternative. I really like that lightning cancels into buster, up lightning > buster is so much controlled space lol. Also charging before the round starts is really good, gonna be hard to get the jump on him at the start now (grrr at magneto walk forward + heavy being so good right now).
Maxi looks really good in 5 from what I’ve seen and Mitsu got back his best move (33BB) so looks like we’ll both be going strong lol
I have never played a SC serious before. I played soul edge and SC1 but that was it. How much has it changed since then?
A lot. Especially 5. It’s almost like Team Soul took some cues from 2D fighters with this one.
Only bad thing I’ve heard so far regarding Maxi is that walking backwards kills him. Backwards step is really good right now, so he ends up whiffing and getting punished a lot. But apparently he does huge damage and destroys guard, plus some of his stance options for pressure seem insane.

Also DEMO… I went into the lab with Kung Lao today to figure out what the hell I could do now with the nerfs… your determination to block low and never jump had me kinda baffled as to how I was supposed to get openings or do anything at all… but I got something for you now lol. The overhead buff was pretty big actually, kinda wish I had known about it beforehand. Also found a way to do the rapid punches consistently so GIMME DAT METER. I’m coming back for revenge. :badboy:
