Shooting dudes ain’t gonna make that Tsubaki pressure any better lol
heading to EZ soon. Feel even lazier than most Fridays…
I don’t really play during the week because of school mostly just saturdays or sundays but it depends on if i’m working those days too.
Yea I mean there’s no problems if people wanna play SF4 it’s just that there’s enough people that every single saturday will always be AH3 so anything else we will just see on but yea if you see me there like I said I literally play “everything but MVC3” so yea.
Forgive my MK ignorance. I have never played MK9. Could you elaborate on the spin. (How it’s punished by good players…and why scrubs couldn’t?) I’m curious as to why a punishable move would get nerfed to begin with.

I’ll be here with a system with AE, Third Strike and AH3.
Heres the thing, yes spin was punishable, in fact VERY punishable but the problem with the move was that it 1. hit people crouching (which is a big deal for a move in this game) and 2. caused significant pushback when blocked. basically to punish it properly you had to block, release block, dash, then punish. this really wasnt a problem once you learned how to do it. this is why scrubs couldnt do it though. the REAL problem with Kung Lao though was the low hat. its a low hitting projectile that can be mixed up into his pressure strings along with an overhead. doesnt seem like a problem right? that is until you get hit by it and then you are put into a MASSIVE stagger state and then you are FORCED to stand (cant crouch) the incoming string/mixup. even if you block correctly punishing low hat is a bitch, then even if you punish Kung Lao, hes virtually ALWAYS got a breaker ready (combo breaker) because the easiet way to build meter in this game is to have your attacks blocked. so Kung Lao pressure into blocked low hats=SCARY. Kung Lao pressure into landed low hats=YOUR ASS.
The character is beatable yes…but the degree at which he STOOD out above the rest of the cast warranted some nerfs.
Seriously just go watch the Charlotte tournament footage from the MK matches if you wanna see why low hat got nerfed. I think I had a match where I landed 2,4 low hat once and then the entire match was me doing strings into low hat after that lol
Basically the hat was unpunishable and if it landed you got a free mixup. The stagger was so long you could get a free jump in and they couldn’t anti air you (blocked jump ins in MK = free throw, which got nerfed too FYI). Looking at the changes I think it’ll be a much better game. Noob is going to be a little scary, he’s got a full screen high / low game now.
Trying to decide if I wanna go to the state gathering or the ranbats tomorrow. Probably the ranbats since I like money.
Seriously thinking if I should enter MVC3 at EZ next Saturday just to try to learn something before UMVC3 or if I should just do that shit at gatherings.
Game is being changed completely. It really doesn’t matter if you learn it now or later imo. Well, maybe except for recognizing common setups and how to block them.
So it’s not going to be like say the difference of Super and AE where you could be good at Super and then still adjust to AE just fine because of the experience with the previous game?
Stuff will almost always transfer over on a fundamental level. But as far as frame data and attack properties, there’s no telling what would change.
Well of course experience will transfer, but when you’re sitting there in training mode for MvC3, there’s no point since all the movesets are changing. Street Fighter you can rely on fundamentals to get you by, but Marvel is all about not dropping your combo.
Some characters in UMvC3 are* barely* going to be changed. This is Capcom we’re talking about.
If you want to play and learn MvC3, then by all means it’s not a bad thing to start now.
This is…flat out wrong. They aren’t changing every move, some characters are getting really minor changes.
If you plan on playing Ultimate, then there’s nothing but good that could come from learning anything in Vanilla. It will get you used to the speed of the game, and many characters are going to be using the exact same combos from before (Wolverine, Dorm, Wesker) if not slightly different ones that will be much easier to implement if you knew the old ones (Sent).
Okay maybe I shouldn’t of said “all”. But most of those combos are just magic series and that doesn’t change. But I remember Alice-Chan used to play Magneto, and he’s definitely not the same.
I’m still kinda mad they messed with his air dash H.
