I wasnt trying to change the world. I wasnt trying to convince others to buy the opposing hardware. I wasnt trying to change whats “tournament standard”. I simply wanted to know if the slowdown was a real issue so that I could get the game and practice on the other system, seeing as how I own both and my stick is dual modded. Im gonna play on whatever is in front of me, but IN MY HOME I would rather have the better version. The same reason why I got FFXIII/Castlevania on PS3 and Bayonetta/Dead Rising 2 on 360.
The only “cycle” seems to be that the peanut gallery continues to grow in size. God forbid a question is simply asked and then answered without the attempted wit of the internet intellects.

They are only doing registration in person on Thursday 3/10 and Fri morning 3/11, so if you want to arrive on Sat you HAVE to pay for everything online by tomorrow night.
Also, if anyone in Charlotte still needs a job, my company is going to be at the CPCC Career Fair this Thursday 3/03.
Not going to lie, the job is hell but it pays decently enough and you get 3 weeks paid of training, so at the very least if you’re hired you can get paid to sit in class for 3 weeks and then leave and pretend you never heard of the place.

People, I don’t think I can wait until April for Hard Corps: Uprising. I think I’m going to just drop the funds for the 360 version and crack out. Unless the majority of the people I plan on crackin’ out w/ are still set on the PS3 release I can find an excuse to wait… somewhere. :\
This game has too much BS in it. Hard to take seriously.
It’s kinda fun and all, but they went overboard with the OTGs and the X-Factor.
I see where you’re coming from, but I don’t see anything in this game that comes remotely close to MVC2 big 4 ridiculous. Hell, I’ll go ahead and include MVC2 Iron Man in that grouping too. The answers are more apparent in this game, and a larger portion of the cast has access to them (all of them imo).
Here’s a request to whoever starts the new thread, since it’s upon us, and I’ll be at work and unable to start a new thread. PLEASE don’t use an inside joke that you neither are a part of nor understand as a thread title. PLEASE. Just let Roski do it.
On that note, I don’t see why everyone (not just NC) makes stupid titles for regional threads and character threads anyway. About 1% of them are ever actually witty, the most are just… bad.
If we don’t see you at tournaments and/or sessions more than 3 times a year: don’t make a fuckin’ thread title.
I’m trying to judge the game on it’s own merits… not within the context of MvC2 (I realize that’s the only game I am known to play).
It’s still early, and I will readily admit that a lot of characters have cheese (a la XMvSF). Equal opportunity cheese is better than a handful of S-tiers.
I just think they went overboard trying to keep it casual friendly. Having all year to OTG stuff kinda bothers me, even though (again) everyone can do it. Just feels wrong to me.
I’m not saying it’s not fun, because it is. I just don’t know if some of the things I see are conducive to the game having staying power. We’ll know more later. Maybe the game does have something that’s “big 4 ridiculous”, and it’s just that nobody knows yet. Including you.
That applies to every game though. I could go home and go into SSF4 training mode right now and find some busted shit with T.Hawk that no one has ever thought to look for and make him broke tier with all 9-1 matches in his favor. In theory anyway.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that there’s stuff we know we don’t know, and stuff we don’t know we don’t know. And gamebreaking mechanics that cause a great divide amongst the cast of Marvel 3 are something we don’t know we don’t know yet, so there’s not much point arguing about it’s potential existance or nonexistance until someone finds something to suggest otherwise.
Until then we need to focus on what we know we don’t know, like how to handle match-ups with our characters. At this point, Amaterasu/Doom feels like its 6-4 Ama. And Amaterasu/Haggar feels like damn 7-3. I gotta hit training mode and learn how to deal with that dog with at least one of my characters, cause I’m pretty sure that’s gonna feel like a rough fight for Spencer too.
i co-sign on what Matt, Will, and Jimmy said about the new thread. I’ve been here quite awhile and i still don’t feel comfortable making a new thread (hence why i haven’t). so yeah, if you don’t know the inside joke or haven’t been to enough gatherings/tournaments for us to know who the hell you are PLEASE don’t make a new thread.
