NC Hotel Gathering this weekend (Saturday 10/7)?

Short short notice I know. Same deal as last time - everyone splits the cost of the room. Vote “Yes” if you can definately make it. If enough vote yes (10+) I will do my best to secure the Residence Inn Greensboro, where the first one was.

Follow the signs to I-40 East. Take the Wade Ave. exit (Exit 289). Follow the Wade Ave. extenion until you get to the I-440 Beltline. Take the I-440 North exit and stay on the (Inner) Beltline for approximately 6 miles. Take the Wake Forest Road exit (Exit 10). Take a left at the bottom of the exit ramp. At the second light, make a left turn onto Navaho Drive. The hotel is on the left.

When: Saturday, October 7th
Start time at check-in: 3:00pm
Ends at check out Sunday, October 8th: 12:00pm

Hotel cost after taxes: $149.16
Per person: $10
—I really hate to make this $10 but counting on 14 other people showing up makes me feel a lot better than counting on 17 others to show for me to break even. By ALL means if it seems like there is more interest before Saturday the price will be lowered so it’s all split evenly. If the hotel just blows up and a lot of people show I WILL count up the excess and divide evenly between everyone there. If turnout is really small, please look out for me people.

Everyone is welcome to crash - there is a murphy bed that pulls out from the wall, a couch, another bed upstairs, and of course floor space. Room has a full kitchen, living room with tv, couch, chairs, side office area with card table and chairs, upstairs is loft style with a bed and another tv, two full bathrooms. Anyone who came to the last one but not the one at Residence Inn, this place is a shitload better than the Embassy Suites.

We can do some tournaments if people want and I’ll also bring my vcr and some tapes to get some matches. I’m open to some money matches too. I’ll have a DC + games and a goblin, PS2 + games and an extra stick. If there are any Winston/Gboro heads that don’t want to drive I can fit 3 more in my car. I’ll be getting there around 1pm.

I reserved the place today. BUT, there are changes (yeah shit can’t ever work exactly right can it?). It IS the Residence Inn just like the first time, and it IS the same room layout (penthouse suite), BUT, the hotel is in RALEIGH this time. Both Greensboro and Winston Residence Inn’s were completely booked when I called last night, and I wasn’t going to try to pull it off again in some hot small room near the front desk. Hopefully you guys who voted yes can still attend. So…

Really, just because it says “Raleigh” doesn’t mean it’s that far. You can get to it from Greensboro at least in not much more than an hour. It’s estimated 80 miles from Gboro on randmcnally.com, which can be done in like 70 minutes.

I just talked to Will and Blake is helping spread the word.

Its not a ride its a timing thing. I go to work at 5am on Sun and I get off at around 7 on Saturday. I could do it but I wouldnt be able to enjoy myself.

Yeah, I have to make sure I don’t work Sunday morning to justify the 3 hour drive to Raleigh for me. I’ll do my best to make it up there though.

lol damn Alex, nice. This is 0.2 mi from where I work, about a mile from my apartment and I walk through there twice every day lololol. There’s an Ale House, a Kanki (japanese hibachi steakhouse), Red Lobster, Hooters, TGI Friday’s and some other good restaurants like a mile further down Wake Forest and the Bahama Breeze is literally next door if you want to stop by for fancy drinks.

Anyway, yeah I’ll be strolling up there and back. awesome. don’t have to rely on anyone’s ride, for once.
