How did he screw Letterman? Letterman got the last laugh with bigger pay, producing his own show (and the follow up show, first Snyder (iirc) then Kilborn then Ferguson), and now Letterman is owning in the ratings while he has a career damaging sex scandal.

I dont get it though why arent they giving Conan a chance? Leno didnt start beating Letterman in ratings until 1995. Also they gave Seinfeld a chance for 3 seasons before it started become the ratings powerhouse.

NBC can’t afford to give any show a chance anymore, if that shit isn’t a hit right out of the gate, they cut it. The first 3 seasons on Seinfeld are basically unwatchable, it’s a wonder they ever had enough clout to let that shit slide. NBC is fucking up these days. Outside of the Office, none of their shows have great ratings. 30 Rock slides by on critical acclaim every year.

The original plan for Leno was to move him down because his audience is old as fuck and are falling asleep earlier. Most people that watch late night tv don’t even watch it, it’s background noise to top them from having sex with their loved ones.

I have never witnessed a single moment of brilliance from Fallon, though I have only seen a handful of episodes (still, if it takes that long for just one nice moment, that still doesn’t make his shtick any better). I even watched the Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris) interview, and it wasn’t funny at all because Fallon couldn’t hold his pose. That’s pathetic.

I will admit that the quality of Conan’s shows has been on a decline since his Late Night days, though. I think the earlier time slot just doesn’t suit him that well.

What I also find sad, since I’ve attended both Conan’s The Tonight Show and the Jay Leno Show live before, is that Leno is actually really funny?when he’s not on the show and just warming up the audience. His own jokes are good, and he is very witty (which would be the case for any good comedian, I guess). It’s just that once the show starts rolling, he has to go to his “safe,” canned routine, which is not funny at all to me.

exactly… i’ve seen jay at the hermosa comedy club plenty of times and hes always funnier( he performs there every sunday and i live a block away) than he is onb the show…

jimmy fallon is just horrible… any random person with 8 hours to write jokes could probably do what he does… perhaps better than he does… thats REALLY pathetic.

Conando is the man! His monologue is pure gold and he is a true entertainer. Jimmy Fallon is completely unwatchable for me. The few times he has something funny to say, he giggles his way through it.

The biggest plus for me right now is before Fallon was on it was always difficult for me to decide who to watch, Conan or Craig. Now it’s easy. Craig all of the time. If Conan gets bumped up I’ll have the same problem unless the second guest is lame.

Craig had mad jokes last night about the shake up. He made an announcement that his show is on at the same time it was last week as a heads up. :lol:
