this is one huge mess and makes Leno out to be the asshole too (and Zucker). Never liked him and after the Stern show and what Rosie said, I actually hate the guy now. This fucker could not just step down and hand it to Conan and instead take that shit right back.

That was just his cover story. NBC Kind of strong armed him to leaving, by saying “We’ll let you stay another 6 years and then in 2009 we’re handing it over to Conan,” and Leno begrudgingly said okay. Then the time came, and Leno was all like “Hey, I’m not ready to go yet.” But Conan would have left for breech of contract, so he was offered a 10:00 show to appease him and then Conan would stay happy. Leno took it, but he was never satisfied. He seems to think he’s entitled to the show; he stole it from Letterman, he stole it from Conan. Since he was going to be cancelled, NBC tried to water down all of late night out of fear of upsetting Leno, but Conan had balls and stood his ground.

So i heard Kimmel really laid it into Leno on his show. Is anyone watching it? It’s not on here on the west coast yet.
