NBA Jam is making a comeback...again

Steal isn’t mapped to pass, spin/juke is its own button instead of a cross map of pass+shoot, plus a few other control issues that irked me, but it’s whatever, Jam: On Fire is pretty fucking excellent.
It’s not a perfect recreation of NBA Jam TE, but it absolutely captures the spirit of the game.

Hakeem Olajuwon.

My nigga.

Crossovers and shit. I don’t know shit about basketball, but NBA Jam ruined my life and made me a socially awkward know-it-all who dropped out of college. Fuck this cancer.

I bought it on PSN and love it

Here are the new controls:

I was quite disappointed that they moved away from the 3 button command system. Honestly I would of been very happy if they just made a graphically superior HD version with NBA Hangtime gameplay with updated rosters and original announcer from NBA Jam. After playing the 2011 On Fire Edition on PSN a lot for the last week I got used to the controls using a PS3 controller and I am enjoying this game a lot now. With the amount of controls and commands, playing on a 5 button MK layout or 6 button joystick won’t workout.

It would nice if there was an option to choose to play 2on2 and 3on3. I used to play NBA Jam 2004, it was only a 3on3 game, quite fun for it’s time.

OFE is dope but like others said, extra buttons make playing it on a stick harder than it needs to be. it’s still POSSIBLE, but not worth it.

I been playing this game so much recently, more than the FGs. What team do you most of you use? I use LA Lakers with Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson.

NBA Jam OFE is legit. The first remake of NBA Jam was ok but it was stupid how the AI was it’s own player, they put it back to old school NBA JAM for OFE. The 1vs1vs1vs1 21 game mode was pretty fucking good in the first remake. I’m a little bummed they took that out of OFE. But this game does have a lot of old school feel despite having a few new controls. I really like how when the new NBA season started they updated the states of the players and for the trades that happened they moved the correct player to their new correct team, I fucking love this.

Main Team: San Antonio Spurs - Robinson/Ginobili (I mix it up with Duncan, Parker, and Gervin depending on the situation)
Secondary Team: Chicago Bulls - Rose/Pippen
