NBA Jam is making a comeback...again

4-player Maxmimum Hangtime is where it’s at. We still play to this day, with USB-to-PS1 converters and PS1 pads in MAME. Speaking of Seattle, you can’t do much better than Kemp/Payton. Also, David Robinson is SS-tier. Here’s hoping Turmell stays true to the series’ roots. Heck, I wouldn’t mind Hangtime with just a roster update. Also, Gamecube/Classic Controller support.

Remember on TE I think was when it showed Horace Grant making that dunk, and Pippen doing his double pump jam? Maaaaan, there was a time when Scottie Pippen was my hero. I always loathed not having MJ to chose from though in the home version (or was he unlockable?).

I do have some great memories of NBA Street vol. 2 but I’d have to say that NBA JAM T.E. was my fav.

Remember the first time I noticed NBA Jam in my local comic book store. Pretty much the same scene at jr. high lunch. All the blacks huddled around Jam, all the asians huddled around Fighter’s History. It’s enough to say after a few days Fighter’s History helped to bring our cultures together as both groups were shit talking around the Jam machine and left FH collecting dust. What the hell was the comic bookstore owner thinking getting FH.

From downtown!!! Ugly shot!!!

NBA Jam was probably one of my favourite all-time sports game. I’ve always loved games that took the piss out of ‘real’ sports. NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, so-on and so-on. Nowadays they just make games too bloody serious when it comes to sports. Should bring back NFL Blitz too while they’re at it. I thought it was hilarious in the article where he actually says he put in code to make sure that the average of last second shots against his favourite team (when playing the Bulls) would average as bricks.

Am I the only one with negative memories?

My copy of NBA Jam for Genesis simply refused to work.

Flashback*

Me - "Come on you piece of shit!"
TV - "SEEEEEGAAAAA!"
Me - "…"

Me - "…"
TV - “…”

/tosses NBA Jam across room.

UGLY SHOT…IT’S GOOD!

Different genre of game dude ^_^. Need Chapter 2 of the Hoopz sage though.

I can’t wait to see what they’re planning though. Ewing/Starks all day, though I wanna see a vid of Jordan/Payton. IS IT TEH SHOES?

old school ny all day. too bad its wii only. fuck…

The snes ver was gdlk!! I remember heated matches with my cousin, dunkin’ and shit!.. ‘Hes on FIIIRRREEE’ :wgrin:

Well if this is to be a virtual console release, I hope that it supports Nintendo Wifi Connection. Now that would be awesome.

Great game, mang. Team Will Smith ftw! I’d be laughing if it was an overhyped port, thrown onto digital download.

If they bring back Neil Funk (Hangtime and Chicago Bulls announcer, radio) and have Jeff Van Gundy do color, as Steve Nash would say, GET PAID!!!
