Nash General Thread: Charlie (Nash) finally revealed!

LK Moonsault pressure isn’t legit at all ranges because of the crossover against crouchers, max range c.MP xx LK Moonsault is still good. His anti-airs are different (s.MK is my go-to now) but they are still good.

His ground game feels the same mostly, poking with the likes of f+LK, c.MK, f+MK, f+HK and Sweep, fishing for counter-hits into damage.

What are his V-trigger combo’s now that sonic boom doesn’t connect?

I can’t play at the moment but I’m watching Infiltration.
I swear I just saw him hit an LK Moonsault, hit the LP but the MP whiffed. Was I seeing things or is this real life?

Must have been badly spaced because that combo still works.

Connect off what? He can combo into MP Sonic Boom and follow up if he has V-Trigger. It is range dependant though.

Ok. Sorry, I panicked.
I saw that the MP whiffed and imagined his pressure jumping out the window.

Nechalli and Cammy have been annoying the shit out of me. Ran into some players who psychic’d everyone of my counter hit set ups and jump the 1 fireball I’d throw. Could have just been mashing tho.

I hate fighting Ryu. It seems like all his damn buttons beat Charlie’s now. It’s such bullshit trying to play footies against him. Just gonna start going in and trying to bait dp’s.

Seems like based on these changes Capcom wants him to be offensive. Dont like the forced design changes at all. He has some moves like f-lk that seem almost pointless because every person I played has been ready for it even if I throw it in at the last second.

Overall he’s still seems good so far but requires much more risk to play which just annoys me.

Is Bazooka Knee viable as an AA? Haven’t gotten to play this beta, but I remember seeing Infiltration use it quite a bit.

Looks like I have to get used to antiair with s.mk. His cr.mp doesn’t cut deep jump-ins.

Did anyone feel Bazooka Knee is more negative on block now?

Yes it is, it’s probably the main purpose of the move now.

Anyone got any Nash gameplay videos from the current beta?

Nope but I seen Infiltration play him, made him look like a frame trap monster. His opponents couldn’t breathe when he got in.

I’ll definitely try a few of these when the time is right. I keep forgetting that his buttons seems to be pretty strong and not to worry about big combos so much since its seems in this game for them to be short most of the time. Need to keep the pressure up and play cat/mouse to bait whiffs. All in all I won about 6/7 matches and lost about 7/8. Sometimes it’s hard to break old habits hahahahaha.

I already prefered to use st MK as the primary antiair so that transition isnt an issue for me but changing which footues normal to use and when has really made me change how to play Charlie.

The range of his spinning back kick seems MUCH better, has to be buffed. It has never been as useful as a footies tool before.

f RH also seems like it has more priority than before. Doesnt get beat out as easy as it used to. Imo it should have even more priority given how damn slow it is.

Target combo f-lk still sucks lol. Unless someone has sone sick set up for it I dont know.

Cr mk range is amazing range but shit priority.

Overall his normals still great imo.

Just a reminder, Nash’s super is good, really good.

As a whiff punisher, a fireball punish, an anti-air (great for blowing up neutral jumps) and a chip kill option (yes, his super still kills on chip).

If you do the first hit of heavy scythe into vtrigger heavy kick it works.

i mean you cant do heavy scythe ,vtriger, heavy scythe you need to use ex , sory if i was unclear

oo by the way, you can do hk scythe,vtriger jugle,lk scythe if you dont want to spend bar on ex scythe

yeah its a viable anti air. I havent traded with it yet, mixing it up with cr.mp too works as well. its also a nice reset tool during his v trigger combo to get a counter hit set up going.
