I like how dude showed the before and after pics and the after looks like complete crap. Talking about her bracelets when it’s obvious they toned them down to make it easier on the game engine or whatever. And yeah the hit stops look terrible.
This, like how dumb do you have to be to see a downgrade as an upgrade? lol
angelpalm; but along with the downgrade, they changed the style.
Like been said a million times, the characters stand out from the background more, and in general are easier to read against everything else.
Like how dumb do you have to bee to see that as a downgrade? :>
It might’ve been a downgrade REALISTIC GRAPHICS-wise, but a huge upgrade gameplay-wise.
Go play Mortal Kombat X if you care about aesthetics more than gameplay.
(Yes I’m being mean, sorry)
EDIT: And oh, if we’re talking about just bump mapping, that is TOTALLY not a downgrade, but a stylistic choice. With the new lighting, the more detailed bump mapping would’ve made the game look exactly like SFIV :> I’m liking the smoothness
MKX doesn’t give a shit about aesthetics. All its characters are ugly as sin so you don’t feel bad about horribly murdering them.
Here it just seems to be a polarizing design choice that’s not for everybody. I kind of like the style, but only because it makes Chun-Li’s ass super fat.
ofcourse, look at the lines on her hair. the lighting they used originally was more realistic, now it just separates the characters from the environment. its like this huge fake light has been randomly placed on the characters.
they did it because the main focus of the game is to be able to react to the characters more consistently, which given its a fighting game its correct but aesthetically its horrible.
this is the opinion of a film maker btw so don’t worry my focus is the whole image.
but that charlie really does look like he was inspired by mugen
@angelpalm
It’s definitely a downgrade realism-wise, but along with the new shading and the different contrast/color saturation, I think it looks better as a whole. Remember it’s not just the graphics, but also the art style that matters, and imo, the new style just looks better, even if it’s less realistic and less “graphically powerful”, if that makes sense. It looks more clean and less redundant, but that’s just me.
Also, don’t speak like your opinion is the only one that matters, and whoever thinks otherwise is “dumb”.
He’s basically Shadow from the vs series, but they butchered his gameplay completely it looks like. All they had to do was change him up enough and he’d be good.
Yes, YES!!! I’m so hyped right now! I was even of the idea that they were making this game a bit too early, but now that he’s back, and more badass than ever, there’s finally something I can look forward to in this game! I love EVERYTHING about him in the trailer! Fuck the haters! Now if only they would make his story a bit plausible and make him an ex-Shadowloo soldier who got saved from Bison’s grasp by Illuminati, now seeking revenge. I would also make Charlie the “dead” father of Remy whom he talks a lot about in SF3. This would explain the blueish/greenish effect on Charlie’s new moves, which in the storyline would make sense for Remy to have inherited them.
I’m sure you’re right, but this is still Capcom we’re talking about. Lots of room still to mess up SFV at this point and they are exceptionally good at ruining every franchise they touch.
Man, the hatred is strong in this thread. First started off with “CHARLIE IS BACK YES!” to “Fuck everything now. Pre-order canceled.” I think some people here are bipolar or something.
