you know your pasty ass ain’t caring about no damn brown people! i had to check twice just to make sure this was weeks.
lol but seriously it’s a fiscal…(wait for it)…black hole. we’re not getting any tangible return for this in our lifetime, look at bullshit like bush talking about being on mars in 2020…or now 2030 according to obama. fucking seriously? trying navigate deep space and looking for aliens is shit that needs to be left to eccentric billionaires and private companies. all of the useful shit that NASA could/can do is already being done by military (eg better planes, satellites, etc…)
If i remember correctly…the pics of these “fossilized remains” were inconclusive. The American scientists said that they look like it could be bacterial life…but the international scientists said that they werent and there was no real proof for it…since it was all just speculation.
I don’t see why alien life would be any more religiously significant than, say, dinosaurs.
=) Yes, and it’d be more significant because alien mofuckas would shoot anyone who said they were only created recently.
i agree most of the return is intangible (although a lot of our current technology is a direct descendant of work done by NASA), but i don’t think everything the government invests in has to turn a profit. science for its own sake is a worthy goal. and if NASA was taking up a significant portion of the budget, sure. but it’s a drop in a lake of government spending. i mean we gave a trillion bucks to businesses that failed to keep them afloat.
the USA leads the world in space exploration and in gathering fantastic images and information about the universe and our place in it. it’s an endeavor that is too great for any single individual, however wealthy, to drive forward.
also i agree this thread title is bullshit. i was excited opening this thread and massively disappointed
misleading thread title is horribly misleading
So you expected SRK to be how you find out about advanced alien lifeforms…? I came in here expecting very little, and got something more. How’s about we wait until the press conference tomorrow before talking about failing threads, m’kay?
Who shit in your cereal today?? As I said, the statement is open to speculation, so I was speculating I ain’t the BBC so it’s in my right to do so.
Religious implications of Aliens arriving on Earth I’ve always found interesting and concerning. LOL Hollywood movies make it out like some leader in Government will give the order to fire upon them without thought, but infact it will mostly likely be 1 religious nutcase that fucks the whole world up.
Wonder if my child will have to battle an alien race…LOL
Considering you just cited the Daily Mail, (used as an example of a joke website in the THREAD TITLE) yeah. i’m sure about that.
Those were fossilized minerals (according to the media), not bacteria.
Pretty neat man. Finding signs of life, or just finding life, on another planet is freakin’ amazing. No matter how big or small it is its a big deal.
If it’s the Covenant I’m betraying y’all. Needle Rifles and Plasma Launchers fir this traitorous human!
Besides after the Flood is unleashed I’ll just join the Elite Seperatists and ask Dr. B for forgiveness, and I’m golden.
lol does this mean syfy channels gonna have a b movie marathon this week?
The universe is infinite and expanding so I mean there has to be other life out there right? That means somewhere out in the universe the 1990s are going on again. So I’ll never die.
not if the aliens wipe us out first
How can it be infinite AND expanding. God.
Maybe its a distraction within a distraction for something else!
Maybe it’s this Real Movies - Deep Impact - Chappelle’s Show - Video Clip | Comedy Central
I think that there are other life forms out there, but they just haven’t been discovered as of yet. I find it hard to believe that there are only life forms on Earth, considering how vast space is.
