Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 . The next greatest anime fighting game. Online!

Actually I knew how people were reacting to this game. I wanted to show you that the cheap tricks that you were all so afraid of don’t work against players who actually took the time to learn the game, but none of you are willing to try because you kept losing to simple tactics. I don’t blame you for being so easily discouraged. I mean with the way you all fall in line behind each other and use tough guy terms like “gay shitty troll” to support your arguments instead of showing me that someone can win with no skill, or that skill is irrelevant, or that blocking or spam beats everything, or whatever you guys are suggesting.

I came to this forum because I heard that people hear weren’t afraid of backing up their claims with gameplay, but what I’ve gotten is a bunch of people saying, “I don’t care about this game, I don’t play this game, I haven’t learned much about this game, and anyone who thinks they can teach me anything about it, well I’ve got some nice one word invictives for 'em.” That’s really weak, guys.

I just want one of you to show me what you hate about the game instead of complaining about a bunch of things I’m not convinced a competent player would fall for.

If you truly can beat the “cheap” tricks of this game by taking the time to break this game down then good for you. That still doesn’t disregard the fact how shallow and broken this game is in comparison to say the PS2 Ultimate Ninja games. Easily discouraged? LOL at being salty at a broke casual fighter. Sure if we lose due to gay tacti… oh wait I’m sorry, amusing circumstances, it’ll be rage inducing for a quick second but it’s nothing long lasting. Like I said before, the SRK’ers who still play this game just play it for fun for the sake of it being Naruto. None of us care about trying to be the “Ultimate Ninja” or something.

“You can still be the world champion of Kick the Can, but you’re still playing Kick the Can” - Random Youtuber

EDIT: Oh what the hell, I’ll take my time off to play you guess. Maybe I’ll learn something, just don’t expect much skill from me though since I’ve been getting back into BBCS. :coffee:

I guess what I’m not understanding is the following:

What’s broken if everything has a counter? If the “cheap” stuff can be countered, then why is it cheap? If it’'s shallow then why do people who practice the least lose, and those who practice the most win? Tictactoe is shallow, and that’s why someone playing for a day doesn’t lose to someone playing for a million years. There’s nothing to learn; so it’s shallow. Why isn’t that the case with this game?

Actually, in Tic-Tac-Toe, you have to anticipate your opponent’s moves and bait them into making a mistake.

Back on subject: If the “cheap” tactics in UNS2 take more effort to counter than it does to utilize them, why waste time on it? As many others have said, this game has no depth. It’s broken and it’s not worth the trouble. I, as well as the majority of the people here, appreciate the traditional fighters which reward hard work, practice, and skill. UNS2 does not.

The worst thing is that it really shouldn’t be that difficult or much work to make this game a heck of a lot more enjoyable.

Making the KNJ so that if you try to use it during an opponent’s combo at the wrong time you can’t use it during that combo anymore at all. And if you actually make the knj, you reappear a farther distance, something like that.

Not saying it could compare to some other fighters or anything, just that fixing the KNJ would go a long way in making it much better… I actually rather enjoyed it before knowing the “cheap” tricks.

EDIT: oh yeah, and make the KnJ more chakra expensive, and the guard better breakable in general.

Thanks for pointing out **exactly **what the problem is. You were much more **specific **than I had hoped. Now I know there’s no double standard for this game as opposed to others with well established brand names.

Again, thanks.

Look, the game’s broken, period. If you wanna play it, go ahead, no one’s stopping you. I’m not gonna reiterate all the things wrong with the game because its already been discussed. Read the whole thread. You’ll see how we all went from loving the game, to hating it. You can’t compare this to Street Fighter, Tekken, or any other renowned fighter because it’s not the same. Sure, they have a few balance problems but, that’s to be expected. They don’t have completely broken game mechanics and an extremely unbalanced character selection, though. UNS2 is a casual “fighter,” not qualified for competition.

Somebody else talk some sense into this guy… I’m done.

You must be new because everyone has known about the problems since UNS1. This game just added a multitude of bullshit on top of an already broken system. There’s no value in taking this seriously since practically nothing takes real skill to do. This is a game which I helped my friend ‘master’ in a mere hour.

-Defensive Play > Offensive Play; This is personally my biggest gripe with the game. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem in fighting games but in this case, it is. NUNS2 is a game where any form of attacking or rushdown you do towards a person just waiting for you to attack gets punished almost all the time. If the defending player wants to be a jerk, he/she can simply KnJ and confirm it into a jutsu or worse, an ougi. Now the only way you can overcome a player just sitting there and waiting for you to strike is to do the same but at the cost of your enjoyment with the game.

-Combo Strings suck; Why do a multi-hit combo string with multiple chances to KnJ if your opponent can simply mash out KnJ and KnJ-confirm into a jutsu or ougi? Also, you can’t forget the fact that they have shitload of recovery in them, so if you somehow whiff it, free opportunity for your opponent to jutsu/ougi

-Spamming is almost encouraged; Just watch CC2’s online stream event, most of the employees spam mostly jutsus and ougis. Hell, they even mash away at the guard button

-KnJ doesn’t cost much and is easy to perform; switch the Guard buttons to L1/R1 gg

-Chakra regen is too fast, and there are tons of opportunities to regain Chakra, making a Chakra Denial game almost impossible; Yes it’s possible to catch an opponent with no chakra, but that’s rare and if it does happen, that’s the player’s fault since Chakra is almost free in this game. Nonetheless, if you somewhat had a brain and are charging constantly, you’ll find it almost impossible to be without Chakra. Also don’t forget that your Chakra slowly recharges throughout the fight and that you get an [B/INSTANT** Chakra recharge whenever you hit 50% health or have the Team Gauge filled to max, which is TWO opportunities to get a free full meter of Chakra back. KnJ and the Chakra system wouldn’t be a problem if it was programmed like in the PS2 games

-You can call supports while in blockstun and hitstun; Now I forgot how it was in MvC2 but I do know if you’re in hitstun, you can’t call a support, which is punishment for not blocking correctly and/or doing something unsafe. In this game, you can still call on them while getting hit, now what’s up with that? Oh congratulations, you caught me while I wasn’t blocking and I’m getting combo’d, oh wait, I have supports ready to go to bail me out gg, which comes back to the notion of how Defensive Play > Offensive Play in this game

He is new, if you checked out his profile, it shows he just joined. :coffee:

-Cosigned

I meant new to the UNS series but yeah, that explains it. :arazz:

That pretty much nails everything regarding why this game is complete bullshit.

I’ve played this game for a little under two weeks or so, and I’m pretty much done. I came in expecting little, and I got less than that. Thank god I rented. I will say that I did have fun smashing people with Kisame online for a little bit, but the fun soon ended when all I’m playing against are the people who abuse the “pro” tactics like all the ones listed in Ichipoo’s post or the folks who play the characters that Kisame just can’t stand up to(which is the vast majority of online players). At least as Hakan, I can oil up. As Kisame I have to take it up my shark finned ass.

I’d rather play that new GNT game, which also has a lot of bullshit. Here’s the thing, though: the community of that game actually makes it kinda worth checking out. From all that I’ve heard, the community of UNS2 is just one of the bad things to stack on top of the already many bad things about this game.

I had my five minutes of fun, and now there’s no reason for me to even consider playing online, much less offline, again.

The thread headline is misleading. It should read
"Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 . The most defensive anime fighting game. Online !"

There’s plenty of better choices I could use for that.

Maybe something to play with my little sister or mom. Maybe…

Awww man, Ichipoo. I signed on 17 minutes after you logged off today. We could have fought so you could have shown me. Oh well, I’ll catch you another time.

PS- Thanks for being rationally minded about answering me. I almost thought everyone here was irate.

I think maybe the only company which can create nice anime FGs (in terms of graphics and game system) is Arc System right now. Since Capcom wasn’t so special about this, except by JoJo, and anyways they are into 3D graphics, and SNK set so high standards recently, ASW has the best graphic style for that.
Considering Guilty Gear resolution is superior to most 2D games of that time, it probably might be accepted nowadays if paired to a nice anime franchise; so the games may come out easier. I’d like to see a DBZ game, for example, made by ACW. The system fits perfectly lol.

HnK and Basara in my opinion are the 2nd and 3rd best anime fighting games (for me the 1st is always JoJo).

^ You forgot to mention Treasure and the Bleach DS games.

Get raped by Namco moar.

Lol
I was expecting garbage gameplay when I bought as I’ve played the first UNS and that shit blew too. I just bought it coz I’m fan of the series but ill be damned if this shit is worth 5 bucks, calling this sad excuse of a game garbage is a compliment so just let this thread die in peace

What’s wrong? Jump shiruken got you down?
