So nevermind, according to a new translation Jiraiya (and Shisui) may actually make an appearance after all. Kabuto says he might be able to get the DNA he needs to recreate Jiraiya and Shisui from the weapons that the Six Paths of Pain used and Danzou’s arm, respectively.

Either way, the corpses are easily defeated once they get their souls back and we know how that works with Naruto’s FnJ. I mean, shit…even Kankuro busted it out on Sasori. Edo is useless.

Madara basically said he’s not letting Kabutoro do that.
He’s playing it smart, making sure Kabutoro doesn’t find some way to screw him over. Like that thought process.
I also like Kishi taking out a chapter to explain all the nuances of IWR. It’s nice knowing its limits among other things, so we know WHY the Fourth or Jiraiya can’t come back.
Also, as VS said, Kabutoro hasn’t gone through the process of making the IWR ninjas emotionless, I guess hoping for more power. If he did, FnJ wouldn’t happen.

I don’t think the fourth was in that last coffin. Judging from what Kabuto said, the fourth’s soul was seeled so he wasn’t getting that one back anyway. He probably SHOULDN’T bring back either the fourth or J-man. Naruto will lose it. No FnJ, Just DOA.

Well, I’m thinking this…
Madara was an old head. But age caught up with him. He took Shusui under his wing and taught/trained him to bring the Uchiha back. Upon Madara’s death, Shusui took up his mantle. It makes the connection between Itachi and shusui to Itachi and Madara, it lets us know that the ‘real’ Madara is in the coffin hence the secret, it explains why Shusui keeps popping up in the sotry - to the extent that you KNOW he’s getting a reveal, and it explains Madara’s stance on resurrecting Shusui.
I don’t see why Madara would care about J-man though.

It could be Shusui and Itachi both sought out Madara. Madara told both of them if you want to have the MS you have a fight to the death. Itachi won and Shusui’s corpse is with Madara.
