I just hope I’m wrong about the ending. Naruto and Sasuke team up to fight the final boss, Sasuke dies to save Naruto, Naruto goes ape-shit and does some SSJ6 move to win it all.
Because of course, finally succeeding in taking control of the big-ass chakra monster inside you that you’ve been struggling to master SINCE THE MANGA BEGAN is a “free powerup”. How did I miss that? :rolleyes:
Anyway, the reason I think Naruto went into (badass) “Rikudou Mode” as opposed to the (lame) tailed shrouds is because he flat jacked the Kyuubi for his chakra. Unlike Bee, who overcame Hachibi and convinced it to fight together as partners, Naruto straight up ran Kyuubi’s ass into the ground like a bitch and TOOK his shit. All chakra and zero of the bijuu’s personality or will was what probably made it change to the Rikudou-esque form.
Yeah, I’m with this theory.

Good freaking chapter. Naruto’s new from looks so much better than the tail shrouds and hopefully we never seen those again.
LOL at Kisame coming out of hiding and he’s already bleeding because Naruto near yellow flash speed elbowed him. And then Guy’s there for round 3! Sharky is screwed plain and simple.
Did anymore data books come out recently? I think the last one had Neji wanting to fight Naruto again even before he got Sage Mode and once Naruto got that, Neji’s chances of winning were nil. Does he still want to fight Naruto? Dat boy got Super Saiyan powers now. At this point it’s even less of a “fight” and more of a one-sided beat down.

Blah. Apparently, motivational speeches from dead family members solve all problems - his dad sealed 8-tails for him even though he was dead, and his mom convinced him to beat the Kyuubi with the power of love. I suppose it works.
My main complaint is that the ability to “sense evil intent” has what, two uses? It’s randomly the perfect asspull ability for discovering Kisame, but it also might be useful against illusions / Zetsu / Madara’s teleporting / whatever.

Love seeing Naruto almost body Kisame (regardless of whether he was full strength or not) in one punch.
Though I do have one complaint, but forgive me if I’m being picky:
Other than being able to sense evil intent (which, in the Kishi-Ninjaverse, is probably the ONLY s-tier sensory ability on the market), I’m slightly disappointed in how intelligent they make him during Kyuubi mode.
The level of intelligence he portrays during Kyuubi mode, which is supposed to be an extremely heightened form, is like… normal. E.g. - a lot of ninjas have a high level of intelligence to think a few steps ahead. Naruto has kind of lacked that intelligence in a DIRECT form (though we’ve seen him show this indirectly with Shadow Clone shenanigans, but that’s the only way we’ve seen it, other than fighting against Sasuke).
So, in layman’s terms, Kyuubi mode gives him: crazy strength and speed, probably a couple new techs, ability to sense evil, and… Normal ninja intelligence? Boo.
That chakra monster has saved his life more than a few times, and yes that battle was free, the thing that makes naruto “trails” so free are either A) He’s up against opponents that he can clearly jedi mind trick or B) he has assist characters to back him up. This was prob the hardest training he had to deal with.
Naruto got the fox chakra, shadow clone training, sage mode and now 4th hokage mode…
sasuke got eyes, cursed seal, oro powers, itachi powers.
What really makes naruto stupid now imo is they went back on a founding principle. For the longest up until the revealing of his past naruto was suppose to be about hard work and determination being a from of genius. Its clear now that either your born with it or your not…
In a nutshell neji was right. And the story up until this point has proven this.
This chapter was far to random for me
The silly thing about Naruto training is that he never had a chance of failing any of them. From the least serious (grabbing the bells being a completely different test than it should have been, back when the series was amazing) to the overdramatic ("If you cannot control the nature chakra you turn into a frog! But luckily, I have this magic anti-frogging cane to knock you out of it in case it happens.) to the oh **** (Naruto is completely taken over by the 8-tails and can’t get enough mental stability to get control back, so he’s saved by his dad), most of the challenges have had major failsafes in place just in case he failed them. This trial was definitely free - sure he needed to be more mature to deal with it, but in the end what made him get past it was the fact he was hyped up on positive emotions from his mom, not anything about him in particular.
The problem is, though, that the series…well, it’s been taking itself too seriously. Deus ex machina solves a lot of things, especially since the characters who had the most personality and worked their asses off to get something done and be strong (remember Hinata? Rock Lee? Sakura?) have been completely sidelined by characters powered by overwhelming natural stats (Naruto, Sasuke, Shikimaru, every villain ever).
Of course, it gets worse when you realize Sasuke and Naruto are distantly related back to Rikudou-sennin, since all the Uchihas are descended from one of his kids, and Naruto’s mom is of the clan descended from the other kid.

You know what’s even dumber? How the hell does he know Kisame even has hateful intent? Just because you kill people doesn’t mean you’re hateful. If it did, how was he able to differentiate it from every other ninja in the room? It’s too stupid to try and actually make sense out of.
A) Kisame is a villain.
B) Kisame was in hiding in the area.
C) Naruto had just gotten a power up.
You can have hateful intent without being a murderer. I have hateful intent every day. If a person cuts me off, hateful intent. If a person treats an old person badly, hateful intent. If a person appears ignorant, hateful intent. And they ALLLL know that I’m giving off this vibe, even though I think I’m hiding it.
And if you can’t tell, I’m giving you hateful intent for the comment. So there.
its good that at least some people still have SOME memory.
what good would sasukes power ups be if he was still the same scrub, the training with oro had already made him kage level. and i mean just sasuke. at that time naruto could only hope to keep up with his FREE kyuubi powerups going tails. everything sasukes done has been built upon those 3 years worth of training, and all the training hes done before.
what has naruto done? rasengan training, frs training, and senju training. all 3 of these probably took only took a month if not less of his life. thats without the secret night excercizes. sasuke was always training and did so for 3 whole years. he got MS from itachi that he had to develope further himself, real life & death fight training against kages. now hes gotten EMS, which so far seems to be his only free power up next to his sharingan. and even his normal sharingan, he had to train that shit for it to become on that level.
in the end sasukes was the one working harder than naruto, cause sasuke never had that free: im about to die, demon comes in and goes autopilot and saves his life. that was naruto. so far sasuke has won or lost his fights with his own powers, with his own skillz and mind. narutos done some shit where he didnt even know wtf happened. he was saved, multiple times.
like i said earlier, imagine if sasuke or itachi was the kyuubi jinchuuriki. naruto is strong ion certain areas. these 2 uchihas have been top notch in everything.
…how quickly we forget Sasuke and Itachi having pew pew…oh yeah…Sasuke would really be the shit without his sharrigan to help guide his attacks…he’d be gasp a watered down Neji who isn’t even relevent anymore…
