Your forgetting one BIG friggin thing. The First was a direct COUNTER PICK to the Kyuubi. The shit is like the Kyuubi being Zangief, so Konoha picked Seth. The 4th isn’t the perfect character to me…I wasn’t even a fan of his until this fight…I favor Naruto ALOT mroe actually, his potential is ridiculous.
Dying ‘because’ of Madara is very different from dying ‘to’ Madara. Do you remember how Gaara got the beast in him? Someone was SACRIFICED. Someone has to die to seal the tailed beast. Minato chose it to be him, and saw the potential his kid would have - and with his wife ALREADY DYING…he gave her the OPTION to see Naruto later in life. Madara ‘killed’ Naruto’s mother…not Minato. If anything - he saved her by sealing her remaining chakra inside Naruto.
When the first had the pokemon’s - he wasn’t ‘using’ them like a jinchurriki, he merely had contained them all for safe keeping - they weren’t actually his weapons. So the pokemon’s would have no barring on killing the first. I think there are several people in this series - capable of beating the First…but until we see the First in retrospective action…I can’t really speak on it…
logically, the first and madara were probably stronger ninja’s than the 4th, the 4th died young and still owned someone of such high rank.
naruto will surpass the 4th because the 4th died before he reached his peak. the possibilities the 4th had were very large and that’s why he is a legend alongside rikudou.
the only reason madara is a threat is because he knows about the summons more than anyone. if this wasnt a part of the plot then naruto could probably steamroll madara even as a child

Kushina would have croaked, he’d have to fight the Kyuubi over and over and over. You know Madara wouldn’t leave that sumbitch alone. He’d be all oh he teleported you somewhere? Oops found you, KYUUBI ATTACK! If Minato didn’t seal it he knew that Madara would be smart enough to not underestimate him the next time.

Sounds like the polar opposite of what Minato can do, and Minato beat him. Plus, if the 4th can teleport the kyubbi miles away, who is to say he cannot do that to anyone. That sounds like the most broken technique in Naruto imo.
Back to the opposite thing, as Minato said, the battle would come down to whoever did the better split second teleport and ya, Minato was the victor. But teleporting other people away, I mean, if it was anybody else that would be an instant victory. Just teleport them a couple miles in the air and there you go, instant win. Hope you can fly Itachi.
Madara can teleport people to dead town. Remember what happened to Fu and Torune?

And Minato has to be close enough to literally touch whoever he wants to work his jutsu shiki magic on, and teleport away.
In Madara’s case, he doesn’t have to make physical contact with his opponent(but doing so improves his chances of sucking you in, not that anybody without a Jikuukan Ninjutsu like Minato could have any chance of escaping it anyways), but his method is a bit slower. Minato has to make physical contact with his opponent, but his method pretty much instantaneous.
[EDIT] - On second thought, Madara may require physical contact as well. He definitely touched Torune before sucking him in, and he was more than close enough to Fuu, though we didn’t see it…
I’m under the impression that Minato can only teleport something to where he already has a tag set up, so teleporting something miles in the air isn’t happening. He doesn’t have a tag setup up miles in the air.

Ok, maybe “barely hang” isn’t the right word choice. Whatever. The point is First Hokage, from what we know, can at least go up against a full powered Madara, right? And Minato was having difficulty with a half powered Madara whose even more weak due to controlling the Kyuubi while fighting Minato at the same time.
I think that words like “barely hang” and “easily” are used way too often in these discussions.
People tend to write in extremes a lot on the internets.

the first was one of the few ninjas that had COMPLETE CONTROLL over the bijuus, not just controll but he had all 9 of them in his possension. this pretty much means they where his possesions, he could use and controll them the way he wanted to. so instead of doing a minato or jiraiya and standing on top of a giant frog, dude had an army of 9 beasts under his controll. people afraid of taking on madara, 7 tailed beasts and 2 akas with all the countries combined. 1st had ALL 9, i doubt any of the nins besides rikudou could take 1st on when he had all 9 of them. at this point in time nobody was fucking with him.
