Well atleast it looks like it’ll be a good casual game. The only bad thing I’ve heard about it is being able to jutsu while blocking. You could always find opponents/friends online who dont play cheap. But then again, Im buying it just to have a Naruto game…

And to look at this “glitch” optimistically. I’m assuming the only characters who can exploit this are the ones shown in the video, which means I’m also assuming that every other character’s jutsu has start up and they can’t Jutsu Reversal.
But whenever you’re fighting against a player who uses those characters in the video and they’re aware of being able to Jutsu Reversal, you can forget about guard breaking them on the ground. :lol:
The only opponents you’ll ever find that don’t play “high level” are the ones who don’t know how to. Being able to jutsu while blocking is just one of the problems, there’s a lot more that will be in the game that you’ll come to realise if you get deep into it. I hope you have fun with it though man, I’m expecting some videos on youtube. Do us proud son lol.

Yo Beyblade was the shit. I even had the PS1 game. My only problem with it was:
- I never got to play the GC game (4player battles!?!?!?)
- I still dont have an Remote Control Beyblade
Can assists still be called during hitstun/blockstun?
Are awakenings still OP as fuck?
This game will most likely disappoint, but I’m getting it for free so I’ll be grindin’ the leaderboards with Sasori/Hidan/Kakuza (assuming their assists are still as dumb as NUNS2)

Hidan tracks and does a million hits combo (so you can combo into whatever while he’s smacking them) and he pretty much covered you for the whole duration of his justu (which is pretty damn long), he also came in really fast.
Kakuzu threw tracking fireballs that did a blowback (meaning it triggers the attack-type assist where they’d hit the opponent back towards you for more hits) .
There were a few better assists IIRC, but i liked having an all-Akatsuki team so I just stuck with those dudes =P
I like Itachi’s since you could call it while airborne and get the quicker version. Hidan was godlike, you could get blowback if you hit them with the last hit.
Sasori’s air assist was stupid too coz he appeared so far from you and practically hit them from the back o_0 caught people off guard all the time.
and Shodai was pretty much that game’s Vajra, tracking tree that fucks you up lol. (he was in this as an assist wasnt he? or am I thinking UNS1? idk been a while since i played this xD )
That was UNS1, I like that assist as well. I was a fan of Rashmon gate, Kimmimaro’s Larch Dance, Orochimaru Snake Dance, Kaiten (SICK ASSIST).
I kinda wanna play UNS1 now. A bit less broken.

I don’t think this game is deep enough that the camera angle matters, and I personally have never had a problem with camera. Part of the fun of UNS1 was getting to the back of the screen so you could hide your attacks. Real ninja shit.
I agree that in the very least they should have the camera focused on you online, shit was so stupid in some matchups…
ahhh. I agree about UNS1>UNS2, it was definitely a more solid game (itachi aside LOL). I liked that characters had multiple jutsus/assists to pick from as well, they also had the dope cinematic Ougis not this fast-forwarded crappy jutsus.
I dont really care enough about the issue to defend it heavily, but I imagine this is the thought process of the devs:
- Split screen is ugly and makes things too tiny to see, or limits the vert/horiz view angle.
- Similarly, side view doesnt work well at long distances.
- The “cinematic” camera angle is part of the gameplay. Manipulating your position vs. the camera is part of the gameplay, just like the screen size limits your movement in a 2D fighting game. (for example, someone could wish that, if you walk too far from your opponent in a 2D FG, the game goes to split screen just like those old SNES DBZ games did. But instead 2D FGs limit your movement to the screen edge.)
- Because of the above, both players -must- see the same view in online mode, so online and offline gameplay mechanics are equivalent.
All of this is because NUNS was intended to be an offline game played on a single screen, with online bolted on afterwards. Contrast to Virtual-On, which was an offline game intended for 2 screens, so each player gets his own view.
So, just like screen edge is part of the gameplay in 2D FGs (eg. triangle jump even when youre not in corner), the camera is part of the game here. Of course, not all gameplay mechanics are good, so you’re justified if you think it sucks. But due to the reasons I listed above, it will be hard to convince the devs to change it, since it will “break” one or more of those reasons.
