Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generation - Games out; LET THE SALT START FLOWING! <3

Heh, interesting. If you want to play as the Sound 4, just play Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4. It’s a better fighting game, anyway.

I’m interested to hear that there’s seemingly a lot of assist only characters…hopefully this time around the assists are actually somewhat balanced in terms of usability. I can only use Hidan and Kakuzu for so long.

So much salt of GFAQs right now.

Give up the goods?

Demo just came out on Japanese PSN and here’s what people said on GFAQs so far.

I’m liking what I’m hearing so far, too bad I won’t be able to experience it myself until tomorrow afternoon.

Gonna dl today.

Edit:
[]Guard gets broken FAST
[
]Sub and guard on different buttons. No more guard dance shit.
[]Sub meter takes a bit long to regenerate.
[
]No break away when blocking a chakra dash (Damn straight, I dunno why they changed this shit in the first place)
Pretty good changes but tbh all I see happening with this is awakening modes being ridiculously unbalanced. It was bullshit before, but now that you don’t have bullshit defence options, you’re going to get RAPED.

New trailer is hype~

Just got done playing the demo, somethings I noticed:
[]Can chakra dash in from any combo even air which is a nice addition for mix ups.

[
]The KnJ is a little too easy to pull off which probably balances the limited amount. A nice feature is that you can even KnJ after you’ve been hit for surprise frame advantage.

It may seem like the sub bar is slow but I don’t think that’s the case. It seem like it’s very situational. During one play, I was completely empty then was about 52%, got knocked down with a special move and my KnJ filled to max. Another time I was low and I landed a multi hit combo and it filled up 2 bars.

Seems like spacing/positioning and balance of subs will be large factors to successful gaming.

I’m curious though, I played Shino, occasionally, with a heavy lock down game focusing on my distance and balance with subs and a barrage of attacks. I wonder how they will balance against play styles that focus on several multi-hit combos.
Just based on the demo(take it for what it is) it seems like they’ll succeed in making a more balanced fighter that involves more skill and strategy rather then how well you can press one shoulder button. I really liked NUN2 and thought it was good enough fighter that it could have been bigger in the fighting game. There was a lot of spammers online but it wasn’t difficult to develop strategist to beat that…

I think I just found my secondary.

Played the demo and I gotta say, I’ll definitely be picking this up. Let me first mention though that part of the reason is because this demo made me realize how much I missed playing Naruto games (last one I bought was UNS).

 1. The KnJ meter - I like it. I really think they could’ve found a way to make it use chakra and still be balanced but this works as a fine substitute. It’s nice actually getting to see combos instead of just logs all over the screen. As Nu said, KnJs are easier as well but I like that. Why? Because even though they’re easier, you now have a more limited supply so if you just KnJ everything you’ll soon eat a combo for full dmg and (hoping there’s a way to combo into Ougis) it’d be dumb to just KnJ every time you’re touched. With the new (?) Chakra backdash during combos, it means a blocked string isnt always unsafe but that uses Chakra. Im really hoping this all makes the game more strategic than mash assists and shuriken.

 2. Assists - Without a VS mode, there’s no way to tell if they’re bad or not. With two assists, it seems as though they take quite some time to recharge (definitely a good thing). I remember playing the first match and trying to call Sai again and being shocked that he still wasnt available.

 3. Ougis and Team Ougis - Didnt really look at them but I REALLY hope that there are ways to actually connect them. IIRC in UNS, TenTen was the only one with an Ougi Cancel combo but I cant remember if anyone else had ways to combo into their ougis. It’d be a waste to have supers that cant be used because there’s no way to hitconfirm into them. I dont know if there’s guard break or anything in this game that would be a fast and easy way to hitconfirm into super but I hope there is since even if there are combos for them, they might be too long and end up having the opponent build back KnJ before you can Ougi them. Hopefully team ougis arent assist specific.

I liked the demo but I hate that it made you play as Naruto for three fights. Atleast give me one other person to play as.

Do you have the game yet or are you waiting for the NA release?

Nah, just watching videos.

Oh and here’s a stream.

My God, nothing but jump blocking and shit. I seriously hope high level play isn’t going to be like this again and it’s just that the players don’t know that Chakra Dash eats up your opponent’s guard. :shake:

I like the camera angle. If you dont like it, that’s your preference. I dont think you can call it an issue with the game, and hardly the biggest.

It would be nice if CC2 made it so that when you’re playing online the camera is focused on your character’s back only. It’s not like you two are sharing the same TV in the first place anyway. When I used to play NUNS2 online, a good amount of the mistakes I made was because I miscalculated the distance between my character and my opponent’s due to the camera angle being focused on my opponent only.

How are people playing the demo? I looked this game up on xbox live and the demo is no where to be found.

PS3??

You play NUNS?

leaves

Damn, Rockman is already in there

Unfortunately, I agree with him that CC2 doesnt seem to care about patching (even little things). The sound glitch in the first UNS was annoying as hell

I was responding to the guy above me but yeah, I used to play. :badboy:

lol this is fucking shit. Glitches aside can’t they at least update the cutscenes for the damn specials.

Does anyone know if you can still call assists during block-stun and hit-stun? The game looks really interesting, but that issue has me on the fence about the game.

It seems as though CC2 is more about getting Naruto fanboy money and not paying money to make it balanced/better. It would explain why they fixed the block stun in UNS before it came out then didn’t care about the game post-release
