You might want to host that image somewhere else. Otherwise, I’m kind of disappointed that Sarutobi’s not announced yet. If we can get Zabuza, then we have the get the professor!
I didn’t even know there was a thread on here! I think this game could be a lot better but they just need some really simple fixes…
To prevent the infinite side dash shuriken combo, why don’t they do a small cooldown? I understand that ninja throw a lot of shuriken and kunai, but there should be no infinite. You know when you play an FPS with mini-gun/machine gun? They have a small cooldown meter if you use it too much. That would prevent people from interrupting entire combos/long range combos with a free shuriken. People would stop side dashing if they didnt have shuriken to throw. Plus it would force people who are playing against long range characters to strategically get out of their combos instead of just interrupting and avoiding them entirely with an infinite shuriken loop that costs no chakra and allows them to avoid almost all long range combos.
Also one of the biggest gripes I think people miss isn’t the fact that you can back up really fast and avoid things, but the map size. Most of them are all too big. Especially maps like the Konoha Aftermath one. The retreat strategys work because people pick the biggest maps that allow them to move out of the way. Most people can’t effectively use the retreat strategy thing on the Hidden Leaf Map (corners, due to rectangular size) Hidden Sand (seems smaller to me and the office door can be a corner), Mount Myoboku isn’t a real circle and has a corner near the Toad Water fall, Grassy Waves is sort of like Hidden Leaf. If the maps were smaller there would be less room to constantly retreat.
What they could do is just dive more into the manga chakra explanations. For every chakra action, the next chakra action should take more chakra after a certain frame period. If two opponents are standing within C.dash range of each other, and one c.dashes and gets hit stun, he should not be able to go into his ultimate unless he has the chakra for it. So if I try to c.dash and chidori someone then my chidori should cost more chakra since I am not allowing my body to cooldown before I can use it again. Just like in the manga, if you use too much chakra too quickly, you will run out quicker than normal. This is true with Sage Naruto. He can almost use any amount of Rasengans, but if he says he can only use two Rasen-shurikens. It shows that a larger chakra move is going to tax the body more, especially done right after one another. (Notice how he completely drops Sage Mode after throwing the shadow shuriken rasen-shuriken at pain) I believe that you should be able to c.dash/hit stun, but not into your u1-3, unless you are willing to accept an added cost.
Plus they need to bring back the ultimate hit from UNS1. It was balanced in every way except for Sasuke’s Ultra into Ultimate Hit wake up glitch where he could ultimate hit you on the ground. It’s basically like UNS’s version of a focus attack.
the cooldown on shurikens seems like a decent idea, either that or have limited shurikens instead of infinite shurikens.
as for the dash>Ougi thing, they need to either make the chakra dash cost more Chakra or fix the histun so that it isnt possible to do that, or just made it not possible to Ougi immediately after a C.Dash
the cool down thing sounds hella weird tbh and seems in a way dumb, imagine in SF3 (or any game with Supers) if you did 1 or 2 supers you go into cooldown mode and cant use supers for the rest of the match… that would be totally dumb. the extra cost thing sounds odd too, its like saying if you combo’d your Ultra off a FA it’ll cost the Ultra bar and 1 EX meter >__>’
these issues dont bother me that much honestly, maybe coz i mained Sasori so Shuriken didnt do shit against me Lol… but yeah the main issues i have with the game right now are the free KnJs (they added a KnJ meter but it refills way too fast…whats the point of having the meter if it refills fucking instantly?), being able to call assists mid blockstun and HITSTUN (fuck this shit, seriously fuck this shit), and completely invincible moves that are Completely SAFE on block (ie: Sage Naruto Rasengan, Kiba’s Tsuuga etc etc), getting a full chakra bar when you health reaches the last layer, and of course the BS transformations (Itachi, Kilerbee, 4TK Naruto etc)
there’s a few other things too like having only 1 Jutsu, as in taking out the choosing which jutsu you want option that was in NUNS1, NOT adding Multiple Jutsus, wouldnt hurt to have the option to do Chidori AND fireballs in the same match >__>’ (i miss the Narutimate hero games…), and having the camera fixed on ME if I’m playing online, if I’m playing someone online and we’re on SEPARATE screens why the fuck should the camera on MY Tv be fixed behind his character’s Back?
Obviously pretty much all of those issues will NOT get fixed, which sucks coz i enjoy the NUNS games (still inferior to Narutimate hero, but eh…), I’m not buying this for sure but I’ll have access to it one way or another. I’m looking to forward to using Mei, Sasori and the hopefully fixed Hidan.
one last thing, FUCKIN ADD TRAINING MODE DAMNIT! IT AINT THAT HARD -_-
But did you forget you can recharge chakra in this game? That’s the point about it, chakra would be harder to use because it would go away too fast if you performed several chakra actions one after another. The period that I am talking about could come down to frames for basic chakra attacks and no more than a second or two if you whiff a ultimate. Just like in the manga characters don’t use a bunch of chakra all at one time unless they have a huge bank or are willing to sacrifice a lot. It should be to the point where c.dash/ougi is impossible.
That’s like playing SSF4 and if you dash your opponent and just happen to hit him or something you can go straight into your ultra. It’s bullshit. CC2 failed hard because they didn’t think (or at least I think) their customers would play this game at a competitive level.
Yeah, they need to add training mode back as well. But to be honest I think Sasori needs to be toned down jutsu a little bit, he has too many options and against non legit opponents he can be spammed. His tilt, as long as you do it right can be spammed and takes off too much damage. It shouldnt cause poison for the fact that it’s near possible to sub unless you sub the first hit. He shouldn’t have bombs which give him a strike back since he can maneuver his puppet the entire match. His awakening I think should be switched to a more combat oriented one instead of having 1000 puppets above his head. He’s arguably top tier based off all his options, but what bothers me is that Sasori has two sides. A legit side for players who can play him, learn him and make him strong. The other side for players who learn how to spam by taking advantage of puppets, his damaging shuriken and c.shuriken and infinite tilt loop.
Why are you guys still trying with this game? WHYYYYY???
Get Anarchy Reigns if you want that 3rd Person action.
Because it could be good if they just made some simple fixes to it.
Well,** logical** fixes.
That sounds like something you can send to CC2. No seriously lol.
Meh, I still have other fighters to fall back on if this fails.
Still wouldn’t hurt to have just a little bit hope for this game though.
Well I’ll be watching from the sidelines. I’ll be looking forward to your epic posts once you get your hands on the game lol.
So besides the new/young characters and KnJ meter, is this basically gonna be UNS2? I remember modding my PS2 just to play NA2 and my mind was blown by how different it was than UN3. I really like what CC2 has done with the game game graphically but gameplay wise, it seems like they dont care. That site that was talking about how this doesn’t need a Training mode (every fighter does, that’s completely unacceptable) did state how I feel about the UNS games, they’re basically just fan service now. I enjoyed UNS1 for what it was and didnt buy UNS2 because I was on SSR when they found KnJ Canceling (IIRC the post said something like “no seriously, fuck this game”) and I knew that sooner or later it would be what 90% of people used online.
And KnJ meter doesnt sound too promising, remember the assist meter in NA2 that almost never got emptied?
Care to share the site please?
And the NA2’s Assist Meter practically had no cooldown whatsoever which was a shame because there was some nice setups with assists, it’s just that the assist meter’s almost nonexistant cooldown rate made a ground game almost impossible to maintain.
Im referring to the site that was posted here. And yeah, basically what I mean is if the KnJ meter is as bad as the assist meter in NA2, it might as well not even be there. They really need to add cooldown and make charging slower. Even if they’re not trying to make this a competitive game, atleast make it balanced. I understand the UN games had depth because SSR found stuff in the games that CC2 didnt mean to put in but atleast making the UNS games so that they arent just spam fests shouldnt be too much to ask for. I laughed when I heard that the 4 or so combos that each character has in UNS2 were all unsafe because of one glitch and CC2 didnt even try to fix it.
Mannn you got your health bar, your chakra bar, the two bars for assist characters plus the support drive bar, and now a new bar based off a glitch a previous game had. Too many bars on the screen. Don’t want this game.
I stopped playing the previous game after I got 100% trophies. Online was alright but had so many things abused. I used Tsunade who was kind of garbage and went 50 something wins to 30 something loses. I felt good considering I fought nothing but top tiers even got hate mail.
Hopefully in this game its gets balanced more. For my main character, can I get some type of unique awakening or at least a healing awakening like the previous games.
The thing is, I dont see why we cant atleast get a HD version of NA2. That shit would sell even if they kept it in Japanese.
E-mail them asking for an HD NA2 with online then, maybe with more characters as well, I would put in so many hours for that.
I doubt they’d listen and Im almost positive they wouldn’t put online in. However I do wonder what would happen if they did re-release it for PS3. Leaving it in Japanese would probably make children not buy it which would hurt sales but I dont think there is a translated version (and CC2 probably wouldnt do it now) and most of their sales would be from people who have played it before since most people think games based on anime = no depth. The problem is, CC2 doesnt seem to care about what the fans REALLY want (deep fighting system or atleast not spam this, spam that) and are more concerned about getting more sales by appealing to the more casual audience by nice graphics, lots of characters, and cool moves. I understand (Im pretty sure you do as well) that the depth in the NH/NA games were just things SSR found but that only added to the gameplay. Im pretty sure SSR helped sell NA2 by the amount of videos they put out explaining and playing the game. And dont get me wrong, I liked the first UNS (I even found TenTen’s ougi cancel before anyone else on SSR:D) as well as the system however it seems as though they’re doing the same as Madden. Without getting too off topic, what I mean is they’re basically releasing whatever they feel like whether it’s broke or not because if you own a PS3/360 and like Naruto/NFL games who else are you gonna buy them from? That’s why the last game I bought (and sold) from them was UNS and I’ll only pick up UNSG if I can find it used for cheap.
CC2 want to create a flashy game that’ll get the anime fans to buy it. They could not care less if it has a deep, or even good fighting engine as long as whenever an naruto/anime fan sees the game or whatever content it has they’d go
Honestly they proved this once they ditched the Narutimate Hero games and made the UNS series -__-
I definitely agree although I disagree about proving when they started UNS games. UNS could’ve been a great new game but as you said they only needed to make it flashy enough to get people to buy it. UNS could’ve been a great mix of the CoN/GNT games and the NH/NA games. Wall fights were okay but could’ve been done better. And by okay, I mean atleast they put them in the game… I liked CoN’s gameplay of being able to hide behind boxes, I just hated the fact that there were random boxes around the stage. In UNS1’s Chuunin exams stage there was a tree that could block projectiles which was pretty cool and really could’ve added to the gameplay.
No lie, since this game isnt coming out till Spring of next year, I might go buy UNS2 used just to have a Naruto game since I dont like using Swap Magic everytime to play NA2. However I wont be buying UNSG new unless I hear feedback that its not just UNS2 with new characters and same broken gameplay. Someday these developers will learn to listen to there fans. There’s a reason lots of gamers hate the new DBZ games but Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 are selling at approx. $50 and up. Not everybody cares about having something new and shiny if there’s an older version that’s 10x better.

I must say that I’m impressed this time around. I think they made a few small tweaks such as X-Dashing having more range and I think they tweaked the KnJ Meter mechanic a bit but that may be my imagination.
I still want to see how they’re going to deal with the camping problem though.
