Naruto Shippuden Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 (LNPs, Tourney Rules added to OP)

Glad I could help (although pretty indirectly).

You know, if you really spent 6 hours, you could have been playing and unlocked everything yourself. But I’m sure the learning experience was probably more worthwhile than grind.

so when can we get some tournament vids up?

There really aren’t many tournament vids up yet, but here’s on set:

As for just some casuals vids,

Wait, so is this actually a fighting game? Or does the community just pretend it is, like for Smash? I’m not trolling, I’m honestly curious to know if this is a real fighting game.

It’s more than deep enough. You need to manage your chakra, know places to side-step or b.B (moves that typically have auto-guard frames), you can bait substitutions, zone, mind game, combo into special, etc. This game has a unique play-style and engine that I haven’t encountered in any other series. We don’t pretend

I gotta try getting my friends into it. Right now I’m using a classic controller but does anyone actually use stick for this game? I’m a little afraid because of sidestep being a button but that’s the only problem I’d imagine.

I’m also going to assume Kisame is one of the better characters because of his meter drain sword? That shit is crazy good. Landing his super seems balls easy and it takes away all of the opponent’s meter. Does changing the computer difficulty change how well the water clone moves? I’m haven’t unlocked difficulty 4 yet so I can’t tell.

Kisame’s one of the better characters because his jA is retardedly good. It has basically no startup, has serious hitstun and cancels on landing. It’s actually an [media=youtube]bdvRyCONDQE"[/media].

It also combos into his jutus.

So I just tried it out on stick and it was so good. Except with my converter, L and R were mapped to R2 and L2 respectively and I had to reach over with the joint of my pinky. I could learn it on stick but the button layout wasn’t ideal for me. Fuck this game for not having button config. :frowning:

On my stick the layout was like…

B Y Z _
A X R L

It would have been cool if it was

B A X
Y L R

but I’d need a custom stick for that. I guess I have to suck it up and learn pad but it just felt SO good on stick. I didn’t try GC controller yet. I can dash better on that but it feels like I’m holding a toy, especially with those clicky trigger buttons. Having execution problems in THIS game is pretty bad (which I’m having on classic controller).

Jeez I fucking suck at this game.

@ Spudlyff8fan: What is even better is that j.A can be comboed into b.A on a deep hit. It takes a little bit to get used to the timing, since you have to wait until the opponents head comes back forward from the j.A stagger and take a small step forward for it to connect. This means j.A (repeat until the opponent has ~70-75% chakra) b.A j.A BBX while they’re STILL IN THE BUBBLE.

@ Effull Bao: GC controller is the best option. Anything wireless has (though slight) inherent lag, and sticks don’t have an easy means of deflecting kunai.

ive been playing this game since the day it came out and it is just too fun! Yugao is too good hahaha

Okay, another nooby question on the way. I never seem to able to throw the opponent except after a KnJ. What are the conditions for a throw? I’m getting tired of seeing the throw whiff animation when I’m clearly next to the guy.

Pretty much unless you’re either Hiruko or Hidan, you practically have to be eating someone’s stomach in order to throw them. You can’t throw anyone during the middle of their moves aside from b.Bs and some rare other moves (Kiba’s d.B comes to mind).

If you’re having trouble throwing the AI, they break throws like it’s their job unless you throw them from behind. That doesn’t have any relevance to competitive play, but it’s good to know for doing missions and whatnot.

Man…Ten Ten looks fun as hell in that match up with Sai. And I never though Sai would be that good.

If only this wasn’t only on the wii! I need to find somewhere to catch up on episodes :(. Is Rev 1, 2, and 3 all only on the wii?

yeah, the GNT/CoNR games are Wii exclusives.

It’s an ACTUAL fighting game. just take a look at some of the videos.

wii code:
name Henners
3051-8543-9642

And I only have had the game for a few days, but have played more than enough GNT4.

I need to unlock the last 4 characters and that’s it

I recorded some casual matches (since we’re still learning the differences between this and GNT4)

A small critique to maybe help you guys up your game a little. In the Shino/Lee fight:

RayRay - You were trying too hard to set bugs when you didn’t really have the time. There really isn’t too good a reason to bring out a pile of bugs when your opponent is right in your face, and unless they’re busy and across the screen you probably shouldn’t be doing a charged A either.

Henners - You seemed a little foolhardy in that match to me. You ran in a lot when Shino had bugs on the way out and had a few close shaves as to weather or not he would be hit by the pile, while you actually did get hit by them others. I would suggest trying a r.B or f.A while he’s dropping the bugs to fly over them and safely nail him in the face. Also, WAYYYYY too much random run-in-super. While it seemed to work out for you a lot, it is a bad habit to get into. The habit becomes less and less effective as you climb the ranks.

In the Kabuto/Chouji fight:

RayRay - You used WAYYYY too much A. There were several situations where he should have just run in and continued pressure, and a few where he used it when he was far too low on life in comparison to Henners to be doing that kind of thing. He needed all the life he could get at that point.

  • Try to learn the timing for a regular run out of the recovery of A. It’s actually much faster if you time it so that instead of SSing and running in for r.A, you just flat out run in for r.A. It should keep the pressure on because it will hit their guard as they stand up.

Henners - I noticed you trying to use d.A while RayRay was OTG. Stop that. It won’t hit OTG. You did time it to hit on wake-up once nicely though.

In the Kabuto/Kisame match:

Henners - Don’t jump straight up when you see Kisame activate a super. Wait a moment and SS it.

RayRay - Too much b.A. I didn’t think there was such a phrase for Kisame, but you’ve proved it. Try to mix up how you take it out. Use BBBBA, f.BBA, etc. on block to take out the clone, or do it to intercept an incoming punch. If try to punish BBBBA ect., they will likely get trapped in the water prison. That means free j.A BBX before they can even get out if you do it right. As for intercepting the punch, if they make contact with the clone before the hit-box on their fist activates they get trapped in bubbles automatically.
Out of throw, use BBAA instead of AAA. AAA will not combo, I promise. in fact, try not to use A to initiate combos at all. If the opponent gets hit out of a jump they fall safely to the ground. If they block the first hit the entire string is unsafe and can be SS’d.
Use more j.A. j.A is his god move. On hit, you can do j.A infinitely unless a wall makes you whiff due to a change in angles or the opponent gets enough chakra to KnJ. Also, j.A can combo into b.A with a little bit of timing on a deep j.A hit. This means j.A j.A (keep going till the opponent can almost KnJ) b.A j.A BBX is possible.

In the Gaara/Kisame match:

Henners - You did a good job finding places to SS Kisame’s strings, at least in one of the matches.

RayRay - All the same comments from the previous apply.

General comments:

BLOCK AND PUNISH
THROW MORE
LEARN TO DEFLECT KUNAI
Try to KnJ a little bit smarter. There were several times that you were hit by a string with a lot of lag at the end, got 75% chakra for it, and just didn’t KnJ. Other times, there were times it was clear that you could KnJ mid-string and it would have saved you a little damage.

thanks for the feedback killtz!

I go by Henners everywhere but SRK, so that’s actually me. I’ve only had the game for 6 days lol, I JUST unlocked Anbu Kakashi and it wasn’t until last night did I learn you could deflect kunai.

hows the meta game for this is developing? I haven’t been to any events with this game and hence I have no dedicated players here I can only practice a few things.

I’m usually a passive defensive player, I don’t spam unless its situational,

I planned to main Kabuto, Kankuro, and possibly Sakura for personal fan reason.

With the game system is it design to where play style are character prone or doe’s the system have enough universal tool to allow any character to play any style? I like game to have both balance of defensive and offensive nature.

How strict are match ups?

Congrats! Kankurou is easily top of top tier in high level play! In fact, he even has one of the best matchups in the game. A top player using Kank vs. a top player using Kiba will RAPE THE S** out of the Kiba player. The match-up is easily 9-1 if not more in favor of Kank.

As for match-ups in general, that was the worst one. I don’t think anyone else comes close to it. Match-ups aren’t all-important, and can be overcome most of the time.
