Naruto Shippuden Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 (LNPs, Tourney Rules added to OP)

just to remind everyone. competitive tournament rules are as follows:

**Double Elimination
3/5 rounds
2/3 matches - Prelim
3/5 matches - Semifinal/Final
4/7 (or 3/5 pending on the T.O) matches - Grand Final
Stage Transition: Off
Obstacles: Off
After a match, Loser get the choice of picking a new character for the next match ; Winner has to stay the same character as the previous match.

The following list is just my opinion and will probably be disputed:

Damage: 1
Health: default
Chakra: default
LNP: On
Gamecube Controller only (leads to less issues involved with the Wiimote like synching, pulling out the batteries at the end of the match, hand signs, etc) **

so if you think the damage may be a bit high, might wanna put it at the recommended settings.

This an online tourney?

this game is awesome, but does anyone know how to remove the anbu masks?

No the 1st part are the tournament rules. (generally accepted) the 2nd part is what webster thinks people should play on for the other settings.

You can’t remove the mask at the character select screen. However, they do fall off during battle as you’re hit.

For anyone interested in online play, check out this thread http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?p=8046617#post8046617

That thread can be found within the Wii online gaming community topic. Take advantage of meeting good people to play online, and whatever you do, get an LAN cable adapter, which helps to reduce online lag (as opposed to playing wirelessly and causing both players to suffer horrible lag)

Ok, played this for the first time today.

Does Hinata really need two cancels?

hi Webster & Rob

I want to know whats up with my boys Gaara and Lee? Are they okay in this game?

Rock Lee still has serious issues in that his only high-damage attacks rely on 1) People being too dumb to ukemi or 2) hitting all the gates. If you’re one of those guys who can handle a super high-risk and super high-reward gameplay style, then he’s somebody to play, simply because any given combo that has his Lotus does about 80% damage.

When I was referring to Hinata’s two cancels, I was not referring to universal 25% chakra Y-cancels as being one of them

Rob I better not see you use this character anymore

Competitive rules have been updated. There’s are not “MY RULES”, for these rules have been agreed upon by the dedicated competitive community on www.willvolution.com

Tiggy: Yo how are you? Good to see you’re taking interest in this game. It’s A LOT BETTER THAN PEOPLE GIVE IT CREDIT FOR. By far this is the best game in the series, IMO. About the Hinata question, I think I’ll leave it up to Rob. But he himself hasn’t played the game yet, AFAIK. Maybe I’ll do some testing with Hinata tonight, and get back to you. Oh and Hinata has WAY MORE than 2 cancels. :badboy: Remember she can go into A. Hinata (b.X), and cancel that form midcombo to make her strings longer. :wgrin:

ZTU: Rock Lee is crazy good in this game. His B is easily the 2nd best (if not the best) in the game. BB pressure is pretty good and not easily b.B’ed. AB is good for meaties. A meatie j.A -> BB is decent pressure too. d.AA has nice OTG damage. I don’t believe d.BAA all combos OTG, I could be wrong. I’m not sure what options Lee has for anti-KNJ. You might wanna test if d.A hit’s from behind (read: IIRC, I don’t think it does) or u.A or d.AA too. If you time it right, you can always side step too. In LNP Rock Lee becomes amazing. d.X becomes available (his new teleport) and can be used midsting. Also in LNP his gates (b.X) become free (no chakra needed). Don’t forget to mixup with throw. Oh and his b.B is chargeable and if it’s fully charged it’s breaks guard.

And when guard is broken in this game, you lose all your chakra.

Gaara is pure insanity. By far this is his best version in the series EVER!!! His BB is good (3rd B is stepable). BB can also combo into itself for free, if timed right. If you time the potential sidestep after the 2nd B, hit A to lockdown with sandpillar (A afterwards is good for spacing if opponent doesn’t guess right. BA is good to combo if pillar hits. Remember to Ycancel into u.ABA loops). d.BA strings are still good in this game (and should be used for meaties after knock down). If your opponent tries to b.B them, time it and hit B (somersault kick) to counter it (unless their b.B is a muti hitting move). Somersault kick is really good in this game. You can also hit A again (depending how many times you hit A after d.B), to launch into combo. Remember that d.BAA loops into itself. You can also d.BAAX as well. At mid to long distance ABUSE u.A. If it hits and opponent KNJs, hit B (somersault kick) for anti-KNJ (A after that to continue his string). His f.A is a “little” bigger and travels further this time around. Does decent guard damage too. ABUSE Gaara’s new d.Y. You can combo into it easily afterwards (step forward/or dash depending on how close u are to the wall, then follow up with your choice of moves). Gaara’s X is new and looks hella nice. d.X is BRAND NEW to the series, and is the best he’s EVER HAD PERIOD. People who have to defend against it: hit hit is blockable, 2nd hit is UNBLOCKABLE. In LNP Gaara is retarded. He can block ALL UNBLOCKABLES (including paper bombs). Takes ZERO chip damage. Has a blockstun counter (hit X while blocking). And normal A becomes charged A (travels further, hits more). I can not stress enough, to use all this to your advantage.

Hope some of this helps. If anything I missed (or that isn’t correct), I’m sure Killtz would fill in the blanks.

Yeah, that’s what I was referring to lol. It’s crazy :looney:
But yeah you’re right, she has a third cancel then, going from Byakugan to normal, which doesn’t cost Chakra.

whyyyyyyyyyyyy

because she’s that awesome

Forgot to mention his unblockable Dynamic Entry via paper bomb input. Cancel into u.B u.BA followed by whatever combo you like. Costs 50% chakra total, but leads into a free combo that gives you chakra back right away.

 • You can step between BB too. It’s a hard nerf, but you can still delay the second B so that it tracks if you notice them stepping it consistently.

 • Actually, cancel into d.BAA loops. In GNT4 you wound up at + chakra with each cancel of u.ABA, but in Rev 3 you wind up at -. d.BAA d.BAA d.BAA is great anti-KnJ and does great damage. Mix up with d.BAAA (Y canceling this will make it easier to combo off of) and u.AY for anti-KnJ mind games.

 • d.Y is FANTASTIC. If you time it right, d.Y X is guaranteed. Opponent can’t even KnJ before the super hits iirc.

 • I didn’t think he could block PB’s? Have you seen it happen? I could be horribly wrong =/

Killtz: oh crap lol, how can I forget about the Unblockable DE with Lee. I HAVE FAILED!!!

About Gaara, hmm I guess people I played Gaara wit just fail to step the 2nd B. I’ll remember this though, thanks for the correction. And I figured mentioning u.ABA loops since it’s easier. But you are definitely right about d.BAAA loops. Also, about in his LNP to block PB, that was in your LNP list on willvo. I’ll retest it later tonight. I’m pretty sure they were blockable.

spudlyff8fan: wanna update the first post in the thread, with tournament rules and Laten Ninja Powers - info?

LNP info is located below (credit goes to Killtz and www.willvolution.com ):

Lol the only part I had in the LNP list was making the damn thing, asking other people what they were, and updating/organizing it. I didn’t debate more than the ones I knew for a fact to be false (i.e. “Chouji always has super armor”, what super and hyper armors were, etc.), so some of them may be inaccurate for the time being since I don’t think anyone’s gone and thoroughly tested them all to make sure for 100% certain they’re all correct. I’d estimate that 98% of it is true though. Assume the best lol.

Btw, I vote we just post links to the willvolution threads for tournament rules and LNP list in the first post to save room. I don’t think people would like to wade through the giant list and tournament rules to get to everything else, yet the information will still be there for those that want it. Although I feel hesitant to keep linking willvo. It feels like I’m advertising Burger King at McDonald’s here

Haha, well that’s kinda why I posted them on here. Most SNKers are lazy anyways.

Which makes me wonder why DK hasn’t posted in here yet.

Can I get an explanation to the bolded? I think banning a move against a character is really dumb. If its because of the matchup being retared in their favor, I will laugh very hard.

As for hand signs, I have no clue on what they are or what they do.

Hand signs give you a random buff like free extra chakra and extra damage depending on what you do, but can only be done with the Wiimote/nunchuck. They wind up unbalancing some things so we don’t allow them, especially since GC controller users can’t take advantage of them. There are arguments about this and legit good reasons I haven’t looked much into, but it’s a widely accepted practice to ban them.

As for the Kabuto/Kurenai b.A/d.X thing, it causes a glitch that crashes your Wii. To prevent people from using it to restart the round from scratch and help tournaments move along smoothly it has been banned.

The Hidan thing is a glitch too. If you do X.u while blocking certain combos, Hidan’s animations (standing, walking, jumping, moves, EVERYTHING) speed up to the point that he becomes the fastest thing in the game by far and gives him a complete advantage. To give you an idea how fast that is, his f.A (scythe throw move) finishes its entire animation from start to finish in under half a second and he can walk faster than most characters can run.

And that this is also the funniest glitch EVER, in the fighting game universe!!!

with epic “LOL”

I dunno, watching Ivy’s opponents sink through the floor before getting back up and continuing in SC2 and Mitsurugi “dieing” because the opponent guard impacted a move he never did/watching as Talim or Ivy walk on the walls of stages in SC3 are up there.
