Naruto: Rise of a Ninja

what? you don’t want to hear naruto scream ‘BELIEVE IT!’ after every sentence? That’s the best part of the game!

Its been announced that they will have some (not all) japanese voices available as free DLC.

Also, new characters down the line (like Shikimaru) as DLC down the line…

I was really planning on buying this, but I think I might just rent it now :frowning:

no sasori no buy

It’s not meant to be a serious fighting game, so just play it for fun. Not every fighting game that comes out is tournament worthy or meant for the hardcore people to like it. I’ll play it cause I like naruto and it’s a fun game it seems.

They aren’t even allowed to go into Shippuden territory; its not official released yet in English. Enjoy the game for what it is people, stop trying to peg it as a fighter:wink:

Looks pretty good but IMO not worth buying considering amazing games like COD4, mario galaxies, assassins creed, rockband, mass effect, uncharted, n other r coming out this month.

Kakashi, Gaaru, Rock Lee are top tier

The setups are just too good in this game, take orochimaru for example, runaway shadowstep behind them go for 2 hit combo then Kunai runaway until they approach, then close in with dive>>kneexx confusion jitsu>>chain#2>>snake jitsu easy 70%

and most of this thread is hype killing bullshit…this game fuckin rocks the hell out of anything out there right now…

All of which can be sidestepped and jabbed by mashing up.

which gets you parried and thrown. gtfo dipshit

^Sir, please calm down.

I;m going to rent it I guess. I know it will suck.

i’m not really concerned about the single player or the fact it doesn’t have chars up to the shippuden, i just want to know what the 2 player fighting game is like?

does it have depth? are we talking depth like powerstone 1?

woo…serious business?

Is there a tech roll of any kind in this game? Been playing the ranked matches and the only prob I’m having is interrupting a jutsu once knocked down.

I really think they shoulda forced jutsu’s to connect for their ability =/.

… hrm, I guess that’s a no. Or… no one cares, lol!

Any in-depth strats for this game yet?

No there is no way to tech roll, this is because the game engine they wanted was to cast jutsus when you knock someone down. So in short, this is how they wanted the game engine to go:

Combo Fighting -> Knockdown -> Jutsu -> repeat

Yea that’s pretty much how I had been playing the game, but I could have sworn that once I got knocked back and I somehow got up and insta-dashed forwards. I must have been seeing things. It’s too bad there’s no techs (that I know of) and supers don’t actually have to hit to take effect. Game could be good with some tweaking.

There’s usually time to sidestep before a knockback attack connects. I agree supers should have to connect though. Still, there’s something to this game. Thus, this thread gets a bump.

I just started playing it today. Ill hold my verdict on single and multiplayer for later.

Once you know what strings are coming, you can generally backdasy out of the way of the power hit. Sidestep sometimes works as well but some moves like to magically track. I’ve noticed that using the u+Y move with some chars doesn’t work as it should. I mean, you see the big unblockable coming, u+Y to go behind, and they magically turn around for that big hit. Backdashing seems to be the best option most of the time (or jumping over).
