http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/?loc=products&cat=1 Does this site have the cover needed for that stick? I’m unsure if it uses the same Plexi-glass or a different one than normal TEs.
You would want the Mad Catz NOIR Cover
Ether the Regular NOIR cover or the Full Size NOIR cover
No, no, no. You definitely want the standard TE cover unless you plan on doing some modifications. The panel on the Tekken Hybrid stick with the red Namco lettering on the side still uses the Vewlix layout. It would be great if it used the Noir layout, but it was released before they were putting those in licensed Namco products.
And you want the TE-S/TE Full cover, since that stick doesn’t have the bezel that the round one sticks came with, it wouldn’t look right.
Right. I always thought it was pretty stupid that the stick wasn’t Noir. I want one of those sticks though.
Speaking of replacing the panel, does anyone have any experience with taking it off to begin with? I tried opening mine up, but I found the cover was secured with glue (which kind of made the six bolts superfluous, I feel).
I think that all of the full panel TE’s have glue around the edge. It shouldn’t be too hard to pull it off.
Oh, are they? I’m only used to my SCV stick. So, the faceplate can be reattached to the stick after being cut/torn off?
You do mean the metal panel and not the art on top of the metal panel, right @slawbrah ? The metal panel can just be realigned and screwed back on.
Yeah, that. Well, except for the part where the Hybrid stick doesn’t feel like it has a metal plate at all. It seems really flexible, like plexiglass, and it’s mounted on some white, equally flexible layer of something else that’s glued to the stick.
I’m sure that the joystick and the buttons are connected to a metal panel. They use the same metal panels as the TE’s with bezels. The plastic panel is on top of that and they glue it so that the weight of the metal panel doesn’t pull the plastic up at the edge (at least that is my assumption). I have a SSFIV TE-S and it’s the same way. That glue stays pretty sticky from my experience. There really is no need to remove it. After you pull that art panel off of the stick body you’ll see the metal panel underneath.
do justice to the namco
rip the vewlix plexi top and panel and put it on your scv stick, put the noir panel on the namco te and get a black scv full plexi from tek innovations
No shutup, I love my based vewlix namco stick. Noir is dick D:
No. Noir. Haha.
That little flexible top player has a bit of glue holding it down, but it’s nothing major. You can clean off that glue like iNENDOi said. Undereath that is the metal panel which you’re probably going to want to keep in place.
That might be a much harder mod to make. There’re holes in that plastic inside the body where the buttons and sticks line up. The TTT2 and SCV sticks have extra space bored out in theirs, so with those you could easily go to Vewlix layout, but with Vewlix, it’s harder to change it to Noir. I don’t know the exact details but you might have to dremel out a little plastic, at least for the stick.
Thats why Dremel.
I’ve used the sc5 panel in round 1 and 2 te sticks with no problems. there’s no dremeling required, I’ve then sold the 2 sc5 sticks with round 1 and 2 panels swapped in
Oh sorry I didn’t know. I was just going off of the fact that they made the other ones differently. Might do that myself then.
