Namco Stick Appreciation!

The LS 32-01 on the Namco looks delicious. :stuck_out_tongue:
Sexy time for shmups.
If only I can get another Namco stick…

Awww, why drill through the top plate? It breaks my heart.

I had to do that when I installed the JLF.
The dust cover also covered up the counter sunk holes on the front panel.

Why not remove the plate and drill through the plastic instead? It seems unnecessary (and cruel).

To properly allow the JLF to fit in properly in the Namco stick, despite compromising height mounts for the joystick, I also had to cut the plastic area into a square to fit it in.
For more info, I used TherealNeoGeo method:

Here is my second Soul Edge Edition Namco. So happy

Also what to say happy New Years to every SRK members.

That thing is BEAUTIFUL meus! It even has the character artwork and everything! :bgrin:

Happy (Early in my timezone!) New Years to you and everyone else in this thread too!

All the namco stick are so beautiful do to the simplicity. Does anyone know where I can get a really good stock or near mint namco stick??? I really wanted one because it is made in japan as well as one of the best stock stick in the market. Anyone have a clue for getting one??? I tried ebay and srk but most of them are modded or sold out asap. Thanks for the help. Hopefully I will find one before my birthday.

meus is the guy to ask, he’s constantly finding Namco sticks.

Is it possible to solder wires on the end of namco buttons? Or are the contact pins too small? I’m modding a no name japanese stick that has a weird button layout and need to put wires on the end to make the buttons go in the right places on the pcb.

the pins are long enough to solder to

Finally climbed aboard the Namco bandwagon!

I really like it!

Damn, meus,

Do you have connections to the Triad, Yakuza or something for those Namco sticks? LOL

Nice find… Always preferred calling that game “Soul Edge” as opposed to “Soul Blade.” Still think that the Dreamcast version of “Soul Calibur” was the true height of the series, though. SCII *(on the GameCube) was nice, too, but it’s gone downhill since IMHO.

I won’t forget to mention that Art Hong IS working on a plexi for the Namco sticks. This is not in my current acquisition plans – I only go as far back as the DC era myself in joysicks — but I though I’d mention it to the fifty or so people that are rabid fans of the Namco stick.

And plus I like to chime in for the quality of what “Art hath wrought…”

P.S. – Yes, that last line was Biblical.

But Art’s work is very nice in a religious way, too!

Hey guys, I modded my namco the other day. I put a JLF in it using the method that does not require cutting or drilling in the case. I was under the impression that the JLF shaft would clear the bottom plate. However, mine did not. so I ground the bottom of the shaft as much as possible and it is still scraping just a touch.

I was wondering how you guys got the shaft to clear the bottom plate? I tried using the namco joysticks shaft and actuator, but it didn’t seem work properly. Any ideas?

I used the stock shaft/actuator. Though you’ll need to grind about 1mm of the spring cover on the JLF - otherwise it’ll be difficult to hit diagonals.

I wish I had a Namco stick to appreciate in the first place.

Where is everyone getting theirs? I can’t find any on Ebay on a worldwide search.

Ahhh I was searching stick instead of joystick.

Still though that’s gonna end up at a stupid price after bidding+international shipping for me.
