Hey Dan, you free on Saturday after 12ish? I’ll be heading over to Bmikes at that time, (or whenever I wake up) if you wanted to bring T5 so we could check it out that would be cool. Maybe bring one or two of the 3D people if you can?
Maybe if Wes shows up, you can be witness to the “Let’s see how high the win counter goes” which is Wes in AE.
Then if there’s also interest, we could get some inter-dimensional play going. IE, 2d vs 3d people in 3d games, and vice versa. Just a thought.

I tried getting some people to get into SF, my plan was flawed (as well as getting a playstation and a couple of games stolen in the process). I know I’m not the right person to say it, but I think the 2D MN scene is going to dip to a point where there is 1 or 2 people playing competitively. SF became very popular in 1991, during that year, most of you guys were in your pre-teens or early teens. Capcom hasn’t done much to make SF popular since then, so the number of people who play competitively take a dip. With the teenagers not playing 2D fighters and the older players not having enough time to practice/play, the 2D scene becomes less and less.
Going to have to agree there. I’ve seen virtually no effort on the part of Capcom to further this franchise at all. . . . That makes it very difficult to continue growth.
A $30 game with three, unoriginal titles released a decade after their original sale date does not fall under the ‘effort expended’ column.

i think that’ll be quite impossible, Rob… you DO know that the brains behind the fighting games at capcom had left, right? that’s when the now-bastardized capcom released CFE, the horrid horrid snk-esque “game” of theirs. it’s about as balanced as a boulder on a tent-pole. the only thing that game has rooting for it is the lack of infinites (currently? or have their already been exploits? i dunno. i stopped following it after hearing some “good” things about that game).
but it’s just so damned broken. i mean if you can do short short jab short-scissor kick with bison ALL DAY LONG WITH NO FEAR OF PUNISHMENT EVEN FROM PARRIES… then dood… seriously… this is the REAL “capcom vs snk” example
CFE has infinties on Hauzer, of course, and several people, like Yun, have stupid anytime 100% combos.
And, once my game comes out the 2d scene will be so galvanized with awesomeness it won’t be funny.
