N-cubed Results as they happen

BTW this is Medicine Horse/Medicine Man (big indian guy)

I just wanted to say that the 3S at N-cubed was INSANE! It was hella intimidating to play. I thought the turnout was perfect, any more then that and it would have been too crowded. As it was, getting on a 3S machine was difficult.

Pudge–THANKS! for letting us crash at your pad that was totally cool. Excellent skills in 3S BTW. If you ever have any questions on the Genei Jin lemme know. Your more than welcome to my pad if your ever in the twin cities.

Nelson–It was hella cool to meet you though I never introduced myself. Hope business picks up for you in Cali. If you ever need a CG animator check me out. You’ll find info on my profile.

Joplin-it was cool to play with you guys. Ami–your cammy is really annoying!

Colorado–thanks for the battles, I will definately hook up with you guys if I’m ever in your area.

YooYoung–Nice to finally meet you. I will DEFINATELY make time to play next time your in the cities. Nice job on getting the Shungokusatsu all those times and the wins against JPN. I will also do a lot better on switch sticks, I couldn’t do CRAP on the 360’s.

NEB–you guys rock. Jamarr-nice chatting for that 2 sec.

See you all next MWC.

oh yeah i thought cameron (bloodurien) uses urien as his main? What happened?

Death By Aegis: I want to ask something to him when it sees it connected in the AIM

Big ass motherfucking props out to NE, I will make it next time for real. Y’all proved yourselves. Any word on the pyrolee/Cameron feud??

-Sk!

Stacy is Cesar Melgar. I’m just making sure that you would fix that, thanks.

Where is the GGXX result? I only see (almost) 3rd strike talking. If someone can tell me it would be cool.

Can anybody post the scores of the grand finals, losers bracket finals, and the winners bracket finals for cvs2 ?

Props to Flash for holdin it down EC style. Flash is the underdog of the community: He plays so well but never gets the respect he deserves. I just wanted to let Flash know that there are players out there that are proud of his accomplishments.

props to the japanese, for being true “ryus” and traveling the world to compete in tournaments. and they win most of them too (except mvc2)

i only got into 3s after japs decimated team usa 1 and saw the daigo vs hsien vid. Daigo’s footsies are too damn good, his shit is too fun to watch. He landed so many MP,HP into super. Dude must be psychic or something.

then i got into urien after seeing tokido at evo. lol. even tho i STILL can’t do those combos consistently. japs execution is sick

i think 3s resurgence in the states is due to playing the japs and watching their vids.

anyways, go NE for pushing 3s. Even tho SRK folks want to forget this game, I think it be around. Especially since capcom has yet to announce a 2D fighter and most people never played this shit in the first place.

To the one dude who said to save my MvC2 stuff for tournament play: I play 'em because I enjoy 'em, so no way am I not using it in casual. I care not so much about the winning - mostly I love Jugs. Besides, it worked well enough.

Leading to my question: could we actually have full CvS2 singles/MvC2 singles results somewhere? I want to see how close QoC was with the rest of them.

That was great fun, and I’d for sure go there if MWC moves…much better venue than Chicago. Too bad I was so horrid at 3S. ;^)

pyro and cameron played one match Yun vs. Sean. Pyro won in three rounds. wasn’t that interesting and they weren’t all that interested in playing that match-up anyway. Japanese use our sticks better than US players. so, stop with the sticks and give these players some props. lottsa good players. NE was alot better than i thought they would be. i was really impressed by Jamarr’s Necro and Tan’s Chun good stuff. good players in NE, even random dudes like Mario who’s a solid player but i ain’t never heard of him til this tourney. RiRi was very good with Yang and went on a couple of good runs in casual. second rate Japanese players my ass. haters in the house. take your jealousy elsewhere or practice and put up. or how about just shut up and save the transparent-infantile-ego-generated envy for your mom. she won’t call you out. anyway, respect should be given to everyone who plays this game and actually goes to tourneys. props to ALL the NE players for keepin’ the scene alive. So. Cal players ROCK 3s. thanks for the hospitality NE the Death by Bros. were really polite and everyone was really down to earth. REALLY NE is SCARY polite. “Too nice”. thanks for the great tourney NE. better than all but Wilson’s Game Zone X tourney’s. again, i must stress lottsa good players there.

oops, forgot to add a psychic “F” you. so, “F” you.

oh my god there’s so much ignorance toward japanese players here in this one post… i don’t even know where to start.

oh how about here - they don’t “use US sticks better” than you guys. they’re just better at 3s to the point where US sticks doesn’t screw them over much. this also goes for cvs2 and a3 O.o

another thing… they weren’t japans best players. you know that most of them are second rate in japan. keep some modesty, thanks.

props are given to all the people that won their matches vs japanese players and didn’t gloat about it like they were the best in the world or something~

It would take too long to explain the logical fallacies in your post.

No one is saying that Ne or US is not good in 3s…
Each region did well.

Well N-Cubed is finally over…I’m so tired! I’m glad everyone had a great time. This was definetly the best 3s event in the country so far. So much skill was displayed on everyone’s part. Japan has so much respect for the players here. They were so pumped up to play in an actual tournament against us. The 5on5 was just a nice addition to the tournament.

Before any of you start saying anything about Team Japan being second rate, you need to watch the footage for yourself and see the stuff they are doing against everyone. KSK is free-style parrying Jamarr’s Necro Magstorm super. High.Low.High.Low.High.Low etc etc…that was awesome. INO jumps in on Jamarr’s Necro with no life left, takes a big chance, and parry’s MagStorm and wins the round. Mester’s juggles were solid. I Never saw him miss anything. The Makoto’s were too terrifying for words. Masagi’s Dudley corner juggles were sick. Man there was so much talent displayed in this tournament, I can’t even begin to tell it all. You guys have no idea…

How many 3s players do you think Osaka & Tokyo have? over 500. easy. Just because you only know of like 25 guys who play at Game-newton, doesn’t mean that those you never heard before are second rate. Kuni could of walked into any random game-center within a 10 block radious on a monday afternoon and find players that would dominate anyone here.

I’m very proud of Team Nebraska this weekend. I think we proved to everyone that we are as good as we say. I don’t think we are better than SoCal (yet:p ), but its close… We definetly aint better than Japan, but we sure earned their respect. They told us we aren’t playing at our full potential yet. and that the United States 3s players as a whole, need to do a better job of sharing information, passing stratigies around, recording tournament footage, and holding 3s tournaments that are similar to N-Cubed in order for us to reach their level. Otherwise we will never evolve.

Bottom line of this tournament though. Japan can be defeated. But I think the score would of been a lot different if they played on an Astro City. The fact that they did so well on our sticks is a testament to their skill. And they never once complained about the sticks. They took what they were given and they made the most of it. They set a good example to follow.

I hope Team Japan has a safe trip back home. and we all hope you will be back again for the Midwest Championships and the 2nd annual N-Cubed!

Bottom line… Japan still owns us. We’re still not at their level.

very true. i don’t think anyone will dispute that.

DBA, people just said 2nd-rate, not derogatory, but just for clarification.

we know japan has many more great players… hell if you want the BEST of the best, they’d probably have a team of just makoto/chun-li’s.

Kuni should invite some NE people up to MORE arcade.

here are the results for GGXX,nice toruny. the japanese were very skillful at this.i was very impressed:eek: Ino’s Sol was better than words can say. Most of the Japanese crew played which was real cool. some of the characters ppl used i forgot.sorry lol
