Sure mate, once it’s all re-done I’ll send you the photoshop file so you can re-edit the layers if you need to.
**ChurchOfSolipsism: **I’m following the same route as Derkoi, using all Sanwa parts so they go straight in. What exactly is the problem with the Seimitsu?
Hopefully my parts should turn up today/tomorrow, closely followed by the mad catz retro arcade stick for the pcb.
I’m getting some quotes coming back now for the cnc cut perspec/acrylic cover. As long as my measurements are spot on (gulp) it should be a better finish than purchasing the tools and doing it myself, especially as they can put a perfect bevel on the edge that will really suit the case… however it will certainly cost more.
Well you don’t use the joyboard’s pcb, but maybe you know what this is about…
the Seimitsu doesn’t behave the way it should - one of its five pins works fine, one doesn’t work at all, and the two other pins produce strange results (I only get signals when I move the stick in the upper lefthand/ upper righthand corner).
Halp?
The perspex i wanted to get laser cut but the company (plasticonline.co.uk) is just up the road from me and they aint replied to my emails. I’m thinking i may just cut it myself, or at least try. :wgrin:
That sounds like a ground problem, but im not sure.
could you tell me how thick is the plexiglass that your using? what joystick will you be mounting with your build? and how big you drilled the hole for the joystick?
*I’m going off this diagram for the joystick as my Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT is coming in the mail prob next week
Should i drill the hole 21.3mm as on the diagram or drill the hole 24mm as stated by Wirespeed*
Looking at my jlf which has just turned up, you could make a smaller hole but it kinda depends on the depth of you case where the stick will poke through. If you use the plastic disk hole covers that most people do then you wont really see it anyway.
Derkoi I emailed that company as well and got no response, I did get one from theplasticshop.co.uk. their quote came back as :
*(1) 368mm x 231mm x 3mm Clear CAST Perspex CNC Machined as per sketch @ 25.00
(1) Carriage and Packaging @ 9.95 within England and Wales.*
Which is expensive however it will be professionally CNC cut with a bevel around the edge.
I’ve got a spare bit of acrylic turning up pretty soon so I might just take it along with my diagram to a local cutters and see how much they will charge me to do it there and then, probs no more than a 20-30min job.
Artwork is partly done, just making sure it’s all high quality for the final print, will have to re-draw most of the logos to make sure they are good enough.
Started my soldering and internals last night, going OK so far despite the tricky bits.
Derkoi, why dont you just use what you have so far but just put a new layout on the top layer (acrylic/perspex) and just cut the second top layer to fit the new holes?
It will be a mess of holes but it wouldnt be seen once the art work is in place.
I’m gonna go with the existing layout for now, give it some play time to find out if it’s comfortable then change if necessary. I honestly think it will be fine though.
Hey Wirespeed I checked out everybody’s art that they submitted but I have to admit that yours looks the best. I have a doa4 fight stick and would love a graphic make over.
Do you think you can make one of ryu and sakura? using that red you already did, with the cool accents for the buttons and the sponsor logos?
I would pm you personally but I just signed up to the site.
If you don’t mind Ill take whatever you give and re-edit it to my stick. I just love your design. I would even put your logo or avatar on my stick and post the results when I’m done. I just need the .Psd
