you need something to help circulate air.
I would also say I would definitely go with making your own control panel; so much of this forum is specifically about doing just that. Maybe think of a double aluminum panel so the bolts holding the joysticks aren’t on the surface (use sinking screws in only the bottom layer).
And I noticed a couple weeks ago that the button-spacing on the TE’s is about 38mm, another turnoff for me there.
buy a astro panel from lizardlick.com and cut out an area for it in the mdf. bam best 2 player panel ever.
Portable AC unit + exhaust fan. lol. I always wonder if that would be a good idea.
double aluminum panel is a great idea…keep it coming im writing all this down
ideas : well…
take the bezil off the lcd screen and butt it up against a metal powder coated surround with a laser cut hole the same size as the tv bezil cutout.
The french cabinet looks dumb after all that work to have the tv hanging in space unlike the original.
If you go with the std metal CP then you can get it all done together and use that acrylic sheet you have over the top of the CP artwork.
I used a 1080p 32" samsung screen, and 870mm inside cabinet dimensions so poeple can place different brand 32" lcds but if you have gone for the 739mm french pdf size then just go the bigest you can get, shame the Dell 30" computer monitors are so expensive that could be an option if you can’t fit a 32".
If your PS3 is no longer under warranty… switch it over to liquid cooling.
maybe… but the noise would drive me up a wall :looney:
the ps3 doesnt really need extra cooling. the xbox360’s are the ones Red Ringing over too much heat, water cool that instead.
I was just thinking. How are you going to switch between the 3?
I dont suggest running all 3 at the same time and using a selector switch for the video as the heat generated by the ps3 and 360 together would be way too much.
Maybe wire the power buttons for each system to the front pannel?
jus throwin some ideas around.
Submerge both in mineral oil. By far the most awesome method of cooling. Having a fishtank hooked up to your TV is always a good conversation piece.
all the connections will be made through a hdmi switch.
viewlix cab
Hi i was wondering if you could send me over the plans for that viewlix cabinet, ive been wanting to build one but cant find plans any were, any help would be very much appreciated. also your cab seems to be coming out very nicely cant wait for more pics, how do you plan on rounding the top were the marquee goes or are you leaving it straight? thanks and good luck
next time please dont quote images…
Man… I love making custom sticks and now I really want to make a custom cab!!! It doesn’t look all that hard really… Maybe a bit time consuming.
I’m gonna hit up google sketchup and see what I can come up with lol. Looks exciting!
I am so envious.
I have a few power tools lying at home but absolutely zero knowledge of cutting and building stuff.
Good luck to you man, I really hope this turns out well and inspires me to take the leap. I’m in the process of taking baby steps into the stick modding world, maybe not ready to take on something of this magnitude.
I had no idea how to cut curved angles for the top so i end up using 2 angle cut pieces and put them together. Once everything is done, ill probably mold it, sand it, then paint it and maybe it will turn out like the original. This is what i got:

Im having trouble finding the aluminum feet for the cab… anyone know a place that would sell them?
Wow looks pretty good so far. I didn’t realize you live right down the street from me! Let me know if you need any help with anything.
Oh man, LionHeart9.
I didn’t notice you are Westminster until VOLTECH that you are close.
I’m Westminster too! :lovin:
You and VOLTECH can probably do something together.
I want a Vewlix Cabinet.
Maybe I can get a Kit from you?
