My shaft needs lubrication

The stick in my HRAP EX has started squeaking a bit.
Can someone give me advice on exactly which parts of the JLF I have to lube and what kind of stuff to use?
I don’t feel like paying $40 for the special sanwa stuff, so what would be a good alternative to that?

take the stick apart and you will see a small white half-circle looking thing on the shaft where the joystick pivots. you want to lubricate that and the little cup it sits in.

as far as recommendations, i’ve had good results with silicone grease. you can get it in the plumbing section of any home improvement store for like $2. you’ll only need a little bit. apply some to the ball and the cup and work the stick for a bit to spread it around and then wipe off any excess. reassemble stick and enjoy.

You need to lube up the JLF in the EX already? The ex didn’t come out that long ago, jesus either you play the hell out of your sticks, or the noncommon JLF’s suck.

Thanks for the replies.
When I was modding the JLF I got some of the grease on my hands. I guess that was enough to mess up the slickness.

Could you elaborate as to how you got some grease on your hands? Were you doing the “ultimate JLF” mod? How could I avoid getting grease on my hands while doing the mod? Thanks.

Yes I was… You have to avoid touching the metal shaft and rings and stuff. If you keep supporting the balltop while (dis/re)assembling you should be fine.

really? I was playing with those parts as I perform the mod, and it sounds fine… but anyway
use silicon lube, and make sure its 100% silicon, not with some metal grease

Vaseline also works

That is a dirty sounding thread title lol

Vaseline works great. AFAIK they also use it from Stock.

Lol.

Mine’s been squeeking as well but it still plays great. I usually just crank up the volume on my TV to drown the squeeking…

bwahahahaha
