well, whatever it s it seems to be goin away now. Thing is I haven’t been able to work on my sculpts lately and that pisses me off. Oh well, gonna give it another day or 2 to clear up then jump back in.

I’m sad to say that I don’t think I’m gonna be able tow rap up Guile unless I get some gloves. I attempted to throw his ears on last night and my damn hands got irritated again. Been rollin around a little chunk of this wax and no hand probs so far. Guess I can’t use sculpey any longer 
Still gotta test it on a fresh block of sculpey though as I’m pretty sure it was the softener. Anyway, off to play with my wax!

are you doing all details by hand?
have you looked into getting some sculpting tools? i think that should solve your hard edge issues. the tools will give you a more chiseled look for sure.
yup, been usin tools. I am really diggin the wax so far as it holds the details really well and i don’t have to worry about ruining them as I work since it hardens so quickly. I have metal tools along woth some wood ones. The metal tools are more like dental tools so they work well.

yeah, was aiming for Iron Giant. My camera sucks I dont think it has a macro setting so it takes crap pics of my sculpts. Anyway, here’s my main tools.

I rarely use the plastic ones. I bought those like a year ago when I was “thinking” about doing this stuff. My faves are the metal ones along with the black clay shaper.

Also stop worrying about the camera quality. Maybe when your finish a project thats when the quality might matter.
cool stuff. if you’re using wax, does it start to get too soft while you’re molding it? what can you do after you’re done with a model that’s made in wax? i don’t know much about this stuff that’s why i’m asking
the wax actually hardens as you work with it. Keep it in a crock pot to melt it, then block in your shapes. Heat the tools to carve or blast the sculpt with a heat gun. I’m liking it a bit more than using clay atm. no need for armatures etc… BTW, I mainly use the metal tools. Haven’t done any SF related stuff lately cause I was commissioned to do a piece based on this
Gives me some money and some time to learn wax before I attempt my next piece. oh, found out the wax will adhere to my baked sculpey so I can finish Guile etc… here’s a link to the wax I’m using.

Guile is done. I’ve moved on to other things so I’m callin him finished. I know the hair is not big enough etc… but I can’t touch that sculpey w/o my hands breaking out so I copped out on it. Was gonna use wax for it but I don’t have the funds for resin to cast him atm so that didn’t work either

I dont think many people here know or like Vivi more than Akuma. But its about you.
That Akuma there would be cool body wise, but you do only busts right? It isn’t the typical Akuma face which is cool, but then you may get BS comments about how its too skinny to look like Akuma. Its up to you. Let us know
goin full body on this one. I can play with the proportions. I just want to do him Gi down so I get some anatomy practice in as well
