I just read that you switched up to a bust of Akuma now. What happened to the other sculpture you were making [i.e. were you planning on making another head for it later or did you just scrap it]?

hehe, that body is still here. gonna work on another head. It seems I get a bit better with each one I’ve done so I’m hopin to eventually do that pose justice.

Guile update. Any crits? Akuma is on temp hold til I get my money Thursday. Need some sandpaper and epoxy to fix cracks My plan for Guile is a bust with one arm. He’ll be holding the dog tags of course.
lol I actually think your Guile has a face more suiting for Akuma. Love the details and you have the Akiman mouth down. Only thing I might add is that when I draw Guile or most “American” characters is that the nose here might want to go longer. Thats really it for now. Gj man post a tutorial lsometime

hey i hope i’m not stepping over any lines here but i think maybe since you just did akuma it’s bleeding in here a bit. his face looks very much like akuma…bit beefier…meaner…not really stern.
i did a quick “overpaint” i hope thats cool. i feel like the hair needs to be bigger, maybe not higher, but fuller. the nose needs to come out more…you have that slanted “flat” nose akuma has…dunno if this helps at all, but meh.

thanks for the paintover. They never hurt and am used to them from postin my 3D work around. The hair was an issue that stood out to me after filling out the rest of the sculpt. I think ear placement will be fine after I refine the jaw a bit more. I appreciate the help, it’s always good to have another set of eyes. BTW, here’s where I left off on him this eve. My eyes were hurting due to poor lighting in my room. Gotta get another apt where I can set up a nice work area anyway…

i’m lucky enough to have a 3 BEDROOM APT…so me and the wife have a bedroom, the ferrets have a bedroom and i have a studio…i’ll take pics…there used to be a thread of people’s workspace…it was interesting
yea not to be an ass but thats like a perfect gouki face…goukis huge feature is his wide nose. could you make guile’s nose a bit more pointy, i.e. elongate it a bit? great work nonetheless

any better yet? The hair definitely needs filled out. lol makes his head look like a peanut or some shit. thing is I ran out of grey sculpey so now I gotta use plain ol peach colored stuff I may have to set the eye back in the head a bit more also. oh well, nothing is set in stone with this stuff.

I think doing WoW characters might make some bank. I’ve seen those figure prints they are doin but I think a bigger statue would make people much more happy.

They retain the hard edges of the polygon models and the paint doesn’t look too hot.
Oh, and back to Ryu. I actually talked to my friend today about sculpting a generic shoto bust, casting it, then sculpting different heads for Ken/Ryu and have them doing the “fist bump” animation. I think that would be a cool thing to have on display. Of course my first choice would be Ryu with his bag over his shoulder. bah, too many ideas and not enough time. lol
Edit: BTW, any of you guys use AIM or any other IM’s? It’d be cool to be able to bullshit and not have to post up all the time. I feel like I live at SRK now.

okay , no sleep cause someone had to mention Oro. I started thinkin’ he be a bit of a test so I banged out a speed sculpt of his head. not much but I think the basic form is there.
