great video!!.. lot of great ideas in there… tonight’s training time…
Wow, they tackled you, the goalkeeper, in the BACK?! That’s pretty messed up…
Also, please do not listen to any of these trolls. You need to play Zangief in this game. He’s too good to pass up!
yesterday´s resolution: try my new Ryu/Law team… won 50% of the matches played… won 0 matches with the new team and the rest (meaning all of them) with my old team… something is missing… gotta watch some Law videos and check out the thread too… got a couple of GGs… less trouble with Kazuya (don’t jump! don’t jump!)… lost a few matches beacuse of my own mistakes… started using overheads at turtling opponents with good results (really pisses them off)… won against one B+, some Bs and many Cs… i have to train my links… funny thing is all of the Law combos were easy to pull on training but didn’t had the opportunity to use them in battle…haven’t found useful tag combos yet… and one comment to the video above: i did linked 2 Cr. Mp after the Dragon Hammer… it’s hard though but i did it… got a new nemesis: Cody… is this guy’s Cr. Lk overpowered?..
Yes, Cody’s Cr.Lk is an extremely powerful footsie tool. It is being nerfed come January though. I know one basic Law tag combo, just combo into his Shaolin Spin Kicks or his Fist Fury Rush, and then tag from there.
When your footsie game improves, you’ll see yourself having more opportunities to do links. So work on your spacing and hit confirms.
yesterday’s resolution: play more footsies… results: won 20 out 32 matches… that’s an improvement… played against more skilled players and won at least one round (these people had BP that were over 14000)… i didn´t do it that bad… footsies it’s a differente whole level of playing… gotta still working on links though… really improved my blocking against the mishimas… still a little trouble with Heihachi… used more overheads with good results… i’m trying to mix it up a little but found a new problem (again): what to do on opponents wake up besides crossup?.. i feel i’m losing a lot of opportunities here… made some research last night and found out EX moves knock you down and you can’t roll forward on wake up?.. question of the day: is there any rule for juggling?.. add a new nemesis in my list: Ogre… used by low skilled players (lower than me) is like a neverending show of mixed low/high/mid kicks… btw my BP right is 2335… i’m not caring much about it but i can’t deny i want to level up…
first post updated with some personal info… just for you to know my profile…
all i know that if you do to many jabs during a combo, that will greatly reduce your juggle ability. Some one here will probably give you a better detailed answer. A lot of people for for a overhead during a knockdown lol.
and a LOT of people is still falling for it… I knew the jab thing because of the damage scaling but is there a rule? for example i remember that in SF3RD strike you could only juggle 6 hits if i’m not incorrect…
well in this game because of the tag system you can juggle more. I’ve actually went up to around 40 juggles just using srk with ken and jin c.mp>ss>uppercut. I don’t really know the exact rule, I just don’t make it a habit of doing jab jab something special/super. When I see people do that I say to myself “why? you could do more damage w/o the light punch lol”.
no playing online yesterday… just one hour of training and fell asleep…
PS: i have a soccer match tonight… we have to win to qualify to the next round…
Hey dude, how’s life? Regarding Ogre, he’s quite tricky. I advise you to spend time in training mode figuring out his block strings, as they WILL catch you out if you’re unfamiliar with them.
As for mix ups on your opponents knock down:
Ryu can be highly ambiguous with his cross ups or fake cross ups. For instance, you can cross up with Jp.Lk and Jp.Hp. Two attacks which can be very tricky to block. I’ll try to make a short video, just demonstrating what pressure can be applied on your opponents recovery. You could also do cross up Tatsu. I feel another part of the metagame is to condition your opponent into thinking one way, and then reversing the situation. IE, make them believe you WON’T go for a cross up, and then cross up with an ambiguous attack.
Good luck in your football match. Try not to get booted in the back.
good luck! But hey, if you don’t win? More time for sfxt
what i´ve doing on wake ups is tick throwing but in this game the throw range is sooo short so most of the time i get light punched my way out of it (mostly mashing the Lp button works i think)… I don´t overhead that much in this situation because of the DP mashers… i would like to watch that video… in regards to my soccer match: the guy got kicked off the game (red card) last tuesday so he won’t be playing for 2 dates… thanks for the advice though …
hahaha… as matter of fact you are right… I have agreed like a schedule with my girl… i get home… go to the movies or dinner or whatever and then it’s PS3 time… works for me and her… reminds me of what I told her when we were moving together: “If you mess with my friends, videogames or my guitar we are not gonna get anywhere”… I MAYBE will be proposing in New Year’s Eve…
Mix ups!

nothing new yesterday… became a C+ ranked player (2671 BP) but mostly for fighting D and C players… just one match with a A+ which i lost because i´m an idiot… can’t believe there are so lame players with that kind of BPs… good news is video capturer is arriving saturday!.. as for my soccer match it ended in a tie (0-0)… now we are depending on another matches to qualify… that sucks… made a couple of good saves though… even made the (little) crowd to cheer for me… that felt good…
hello guys… hope all you had a great weekend… mine was interesting… played all weekend so here it goes… I started saturday with 2710 BP… i kept fighting more skilled players and got to the amazing number of 950 BPs!!!.. got really frustrated with the game… i have to change my opinon with the turtling… as i stated above in one post: the more the BPs, the more the turtling… i just became really boring and frustating… so what i did was to watch my replays i started playing a little more calmed (was VERY SALTY at the time)… just taking my time with the opponents and watching them, not going all crazy and stuff… at the end of the night i got to 2001 BP so i finished the day with it (i had like 6 beers so i guess my playing wasn’t that good with that also)… yesterday i went into replay channel and got in the lab… and guess what: I DISCOVERED THE REAL POWER OF LINKING AND HIT CONFIRMING!.. started training my links to ABC (they are so basic), links to EX moves, etc… played for one hour and got to 2550 BP… my advice to you guys: beeing salty made me aware of my mistakes and made me get better… even won against a B+ twice!.. i guess this game is not that hard as i thought once you get the hang of it… it even became more fun to play… mishimas are easier (i have a game plan now)… i have to say this though: CODY IS FUCKING BROKEN!!!.. that Lk. can be a really pain in the ass… most of my matches lost them to this character… i think i’m getting better…
quoted for truth.
I like when I play good, solid Cody players.
cr.lk Cody makes me cry inside.
Yeah, I hate slip and slide Cody players as well.
