They took their name from IV. You’re lucky they didn’t track you down via shipping adress and forcibly blow you.
I think as a general rule, it is best to not use debit cards online unless the site is very well trusted. I have a credit card that I only use for online purchases, because I had the very same thing happen to me. Luckily after reporting the fraudulent activity I recieved 100% of the funds back, but I have heard not all banks are so forgiving.<br>
wow that is cray<div><br></div><div><br></div>
Yeah I talked to my bank today. Sounds like as soon as the transactions go all the way through I can dispute them and get my money back. Will take like eight days though so I’ll be poor for a week. <span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”>I’ll definitely be smarter about paying online in the future. I’ll probably buy those pre-loaded Visa cards and just use those as a one time only thing. </span><span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”>Honestly I have no idea if someone got my card info during the FA transaction or something else completely. Either way is a valuable lesson I guess.</span><div><br></div><div>On the bright side, my stick purchase went through before the other charges hit my account so those should be good. Switching to Seimitsu sticks. Now I can be just like the 3s Japanese players.</div>
Hope its settled soon enough and that they bought you a flight down to EVO this year in that kinda spending spree!<br><br>TechTalk forum should have an ongoing thread for this webstore which could be worth mentioning in there, even of course with no claims of fraud by the staff, just to maybe get them up to speed on stuff like 128 bit encryption for CC purchases from now on or look at their company in charge of orders and processing and to just talk it over with other customers.<br><br>-<br>Well, I hope you like the ramen. Per pherai’s sig.<br><br>Some other forum somewhere I read an Alaskan outpost person wanted to step it up from the Top Ramen for daily meals on the job and got suggestions of one I’ve seen before, my grandma seems to love, but its still cheap enough the Shin Ramyun really hearty spicy one. That one’s not for me with the sodium but the noodles without using the seasoning packet are pretty good!<br>
FA also accepts paypal. Paypal is always a better option.

Good luck! I found that to be really difficult.

<div class=“QuoteText”>I bought some sticks and buttons through Focus Attack yesterday, and this morning my bank account was wiped out with purchases I did not make. About $1700 total. I am not trying to tarnish anyone’s name, I’d just like to figure out how this happened. I’m guessing my card info was stolen from online, and I’ve only made three online purchases in the last month - two from Amazon a couple weeks ago, and one from Focus Attack yesterday.<div><br></div><div>So has anyone else had issues with them or have they always been straight up? My friend bought parts from them like six months ago and had no issues. It may be that this is 100% coincidence, I’d just like to get a feel for what the perception of them is.</div></div>

I’ve done business with Focus Attack before and everything was fine. They’ve had thousands of customers over the past year, and you’re the first one I’ve heard accusing them of stealing info. <div><br></div><div>Have you made any other purchases in person lately or used an ATM? I feel like you’re more likely to have your info stolen from a skimmer than you are to have Focus Attack rip you, and just you, off. Not saying it’s impossible, just seeing if there are other possibilities. </div>
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I should mention again that I’m not accusing them of stealing info. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had a problem like this. And since it seems like the answer is no, I can think about what else I’ve done recently that might have lead to having the card info swiped. Most of my other purchases have been local restaurants. I assumed it’d be a lot easier to steal CC information online than to steal it and make it into something usable from my swiping at a debit machine. But I don’t really have any idea how it works, so I dunno.</span></font>

I came on strongly because of the tone in which I read this thread. Sorry for that. I’ve had multiple friends purchase from focus attack with no issue, but I have also had multiple friends make normal purchases or withdraw money in person and get their debit card numbers skimmed. Now I think you’re being pretty reasonable about trying to single out potential sources of this fraud, and I will also admit that I could be wrong. On the other hand, since I’ve had multiple friends ripped off using a skimming method, (such as this <span style="font-size: 10pt; ">http://youtu.be/m3qK46L2b_c ) I begin to suspect this more than I do Focus Attack. </span><div><span style="font-size: 10pt; "><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 10pt; ">Good luck in your search. </span></div>
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Thanks for the well wishes! I’ll know more when I get to see the charges listed on my account, and in any case I should get the money back regardless so I think it’ll all end up fine. Gotta start paying more attention at the ATM machine lol, that video you posted was crazy. I think I might start paying with cash at restaurants too, just to be safe.</span></font>

Because we don’t have anyone’s credit card information, we can’t purchase anything. We’ve remained in business since 2010 with thousands of transactions so far. Garnering a reputation for stealing credit cards would have effectively shut it a long time ago.</span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>If there is anyone familiar with potential credit card fraud or ID theft, it’s us. We have to monitor purchases through our payment system’s fraud filters daily in order to reduce chargeback occurrences, which costs us several hundred dollars per occurrence depending on the purchase. Though rare these days, a customer will purchase items from us, and we later find that the actual owner of the card had their ID stolen, which was then used to make a purchase. It’s a very unfortunate part of doing business, and for a niche business like import arcade parts, hundreds of dollars is a lot to lose. </span></font></div><div><br></div><div><span style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: small; line-height: normal;”>IglooBob, can you mention your order number? Hope you get your money back in one piece. It sucks when honest folk get ripped off by such ingenious contraptions.
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Hello,</span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”>The order number is 20795. I don’t think I have any other issues though. Everyone has vouched for you, my friend recommended you in the first place, and you guys seem all good. I wouldn’t even have thought to make a topic like this had my purchase and the fraud not been about 12 hours apart. I figured it should be the first option I eliminate from contention before looking at the other possibilities. Whatever I figure out, I just wanna make sure this doesn’t happen to me again so I just need to take more precautions in the future. Pay with cash locally, use separate cards for online transactions. I have to eat ramen for the next week! Ramen ain’t so bad, but a week? I’ll dedicate one of my bowls of top ramen to this topic. My account shows that my payment to you guys went through before the fake charges happened so it shouldn’t interfere with the stuff I bought from you.
