A lot of things are only as sexualized as you make it seem, and to me, as a female, none of this shit seems sexualized in the slightest, but rather cute and honest - because fuck it, I’ve picked many a wedgie in a bathing suit, and I would have no qualms about doing that kick that Konoha is doing in that picture.

It would not matter if the character is a dude or an older woman, it’s still completely not sexual to me.

My best games are Variable Geo Max/AVG2, and Eternal Fighter Zero, so I guess by your friends’ standard somehow that makes me a wierdo, too. You know what I think? Game preferences don’t really reflect the personalities. Cuz, look, I play just every damn fighter I can come across including Weapon Lord to DBZ to Virtual Fighter/Tekken to SF/FF/KoF/Samsho to GG. So how can someone judge based off that if the player plays everything. So what I’m saying is, don’t worry about that kinda stuff. If I were you I wouldn’t play when they’re around since it bothers them so much, just out of respect and all that, but honestly, it doesn’t matter so much in my point of view.

okay okay, im gonna say this again, cause some of you guys misunderstood what my friends where saying.

my friends DID NOT call people who play cutesy fighting games perverts or dumb or baby fuckers. what they did say is that they don’t want game makers to make this type of games too much in the future.

and the only reason they are worried about that is because of the problems with sexual predators in this country.

i called some of my friends today and asked them again weather or not they hate AH and again they told me the game is hella deep and they respect the people who made it, but they don’t want to contribute to that particular type of game considering how they feel about the negative types of fans games like AH DO indeed attract here in japan. so they have nothing at all against other people who play them.

and in my opinion, i love AH and its like a breath of fresh air to play a game with so many options and strats, but lets not lie to ourselves. we ALL know why the creators of this game chose cuttie high school girls in skimpy shit when they made this game, and it was NOT to be fresh and new or anything like that.

for one, the game is made by Japanese in japan for Japanese. the fact that the art direction went the little girls with Crayola colors is more than enough proof that someone on the staff is indeed a fan of these type of characters and knows that there are people in japan who will snatch games like this off the shelf having only seen the box art alone. but hey, there is nothing wrong with that at all.

oh, and trust me, there are more fans of these kinds of games out there than there are fighting game fans, and you can take that to the bank. sure fire sales for AH.

in america we like characters who are tough and busting with muscles, that dont mean we are all macho men bad asses. and if you like AH it dont mean anything negative about you either.

play what you like, fuck everyone else.

but ill be damned if im gonna sit here and play a game that DOSE cater to guys who like cute little girls beating the fuck outta each other and say thats not what the games art direction is all about.

i think we are just lucky that AH turned out to be such a well playing crisp game that it is. i say play what the hell you want. there are allways haters but at least my friends have a fuckin valid reason for disliking the game. i dont agree with them 100% but i know where they are coming from.

The reason of Arcana Heart’s existence is the “Moe” factor. Yuki Enterprise created Samsho5 Special you know, it’s the most bloody fighting game that got banned in the arcade and damn it’s good, because of its violence and balance. You can see many designs in Arcana Heart based on Samsho characters. But then this game is never meant to be healthly, they are really trying to push it to the other extreme: no blood, no nudity with a heavy suggestive theme. Of course for anyone who doesn’t get the message will think this is a sunny, awesome, though a bit arkward sometimes, new 2D fighting game. If you know the reasons of those girls in certain “uniforms”, you will think very differently. Just imagine you have a young sister or daughter wearing those uniforms in the public (not halloween damn it)…

Spec is a fuggin awesome game, but I wasn’t aware that it got banned. More I learn everyday, huh. The most intense game series when it comes to violence is MK though.
