This would be better in the 3s section, I’d post it there you’ll get a better response and less people wanting to flame you. It’ll also save you from possibly getting some infractions for not searching ahead of time for the 3s section.
Just trying to help you out man…
What are you talking about? Nobody posts combo videos in the applicable forum; it should be in the sticky combo video thread in FGD.
That said, I don’t want to be a dick but this video really wasn’t impressive at all. It’s cool that you can parry so well (although for all we know you just had it set to parry everything in system direction), but parry exhibitions have already been done and it doesn’t make for an impressive video. The combos themselves were all super-basic stuff that isn’t worth being in a video. Do you even watch 3S combo vids? Because if so I can’t see how you could’ve thought any of this stuff was worth recording.
Stop while you’re behind. Go to Toronto and have the guys there teach you how to play. If you haven’t heard of the Toronto fighting game championships you’re already FAR FAR behind. I also believe this should have been posted in the 3rd Strike MATCH VIDS thread. Who cares if not everybody looks at the thread. Not like a ton of people should have gone out of their way to watch this simple vid either.
Yet…because of the n00bness and just straight up obviousness of this topic…this will go on for MANY pages. I’m shooting for at least 5 or 6 pages.
someone call a mortician, i just died of boredom
I don’t care if you think that I put it on parry mode cuz I know it was not! Yes I watched tons of videos before posting that one and I can do all 100% Urien combos too. It’s my first video, but really not the first time I play and the reasons that I didn’t posted matches vids is because I don’t know anyone living where I am who are enough good to be a challenge for me! Sure it could be cool to play XBL if it was not of all the people disconnecting them when they loses! Sorry if i was not in the good section, but it looks like no one know where it should be! I played a lots against good people on the live like people under the 25 positions in the rank and they all said that I was good and the only reason why I was not in the top position was because I don’t play enough online.
That’s nice but none of it has anything to do with the fact that this vid contains nothing new or interesting.
Go fuck a dog looser! I never saw you in any vids so why did I have to care about what you think about my vid!
Well, you care about what everyone else thinks. Might as well throw him on the list just for completion’s sake.
Why the fuck did you post it here if you’re gonna get pissy at perfectly civil responses? Do you want me to lie and tell you it’s great? Seeing as you can’t take criticism gracefully, I guess I have no reason to be graceful either, so fuck it; your vid sucks, you suck, fuck off.
Online play. You talking about over Xbox Live? If so it’s a good way to understand the basics but becoming a good player requires offline training as well. Otherwise you’ll pick up habits from online play (with the delay associated with online play) and lose in tournaments. BTW all of the people in the top position online really aren’t that good. As in they’re not guaranteed to place top 8 at Evo by any means. Maybe a couple of the people in Hyper SF2 might have a chance but there’s way too many Japanese that have already seen and done everything we do (and too much good comp even in the US alone) to secure that any of those guys would do well in a large scale tournament. We have to more or less outsmart them as we’re not gonna be coming up with new game changing glitches/strategies or anything like that.
They know the game too well and that’s why they took the top 5/8 spaces at Evo Vegas. The rest were just established US players. Granted you could easily go toe to toe with Calipower/Alex Valle on Xbox Live but he will run you over offline. Calipower is one of the few top players on Xbox Live that has any real offline experience (like circa early 90’s tournament experience). All of the other top Live players would easily get 2 and ousted from Evo.
^I’d quote that and put it in my sig, but just too long.
dude that metal got me so AMPED…and all the parries… omfg… BITCHIN’ VID!!!
Yeah…I type too much.
Well I recently made a vid and I’d have to say a lot of the material you used was stuff that’s been done uncountable times, even in arcade play, so the reception you’ve been receiving is more than understandable… Some of the air parries were pretty creative, but otherwise the whole thing was kind of bland. If you’re going to videotape from a webcam, you may want to consider cutting down on the glare as well. By the way, why did you decide to showcase the same glitch four times in a row?
In short, if the purpose of the video was to show us your ub3r 1337 sk1llz, it failed. If it was to show us that you could make a cool-looking video, it was good for a start, but webcam definitely isn’t the way to go either way…
I like how you missed the jumping Fierce on the first Ken combo.
I don’t mind that it was boring, I don’t even mind that all you are doing here is parrying stuff in training mode and following up with a basic combo. I was going to say “it isn’t flashy but good for you, ignore these guys who are giving you shit.”
Then you started telling people to fuck dogs, and I realized that you’re kind of a douche.
thread closed to prevent it from becoming a bigger flamefest
hamelkarl, in the future if you are going to post a video, be prepared to accept criticism without lashing back. some people will be harsh, but thats what you have to expect…
peace
