Before I start off, my laptop is a Hp Pavillion 6000 laptop. A couple of weeks ago, my laptop apparently went out of commission when the ac adapter for it stopped working [that is to say, the part that goes directly into the computer detoriated over time and eventually burned out. It occasionally sparked which would have caused some fire hazards, but it’s no longer able to give power to the laptop]
At first, I thought it was just the power cord not working or the fact that I needed a new laptop battery, but then I tried running it with a spare ac adapter without the battery and it doesn’t work. I am now considering options if my laptop is truly bricked.
I am wondering if there is a way to remove the hard drive from the laptop or extract data from the hard drive because that hard drive has some data that I won’t be able to replicate by simply getting a new computer
Where exactly do I find such a device? Without ruining my Hard drive that is. I heard of some hard drive data extraction devices that end up frying the thing in the process.
As for removing the hdd, is there any particular method to removing the one from this model of computer, since from what I know, each computer has a different method of removing the hdd.
You can get an 2.5" HDD enclosure in most stores that sells Computer parts.
Look on newegg and read customer reviews if you are nervous about selecting a Enclosure
It looks like the voltage port is worn out on your laptop. Depending on its age, the manufacture could repair it for a price, HP isn’t going to bother if the laptop is too old.
I have already counted out asking HP to repair it, so that’s out of the question. As for the age of the laptop itself, I have had it for like 4 or 5 years.
