other than the obvious problems of correlating the quality of the material with the quality of the high (which is what im assuming youre going on–correct me if im wrong), let me rashly declare that no clandestine labs have characterization equipment to test batch to batch variation. The quality of streets drugs is reliably cr*p such that forensics experts rely on it being so in ordert o glean alot of info including pinpointing which labs conficated drugs have come from based on the impurity fingerprint and also determing which synthetic route was used based on the types of impurities left in the final product (and drugs ammenable to semisynthetic preps fare no better). And this is all before the final product is cut/adulterated however many times before hitting the customer.
LSD as a specific case is intersting becasue it apparently comes from very few, highly organized sources, is so potent (10s of ugs) so it doesnt take much to feel the effect, and the final product can be readily crystallized in 95+% pure form. Regardless, your resourceful buddies still seem to manage to screw up this foolproof tried-and-true cookbook recipe as forensic analysis of most street LSD is apparently an average of ~60% LSD in analysis of active ingredient; Although to be fair it is probably due to molecuales desire for decomposition during improper handling, including high: moisture, temp, light sensitivity (and this is aside from whatever it is cut/dyed/packaged with).
