LOL wow phil, you mad? The money did go to a good cause, if you see my original post i wasn’t mad paying the extra $5 bucks + when i was paying you had explained it went to that cause which made it even more acceptable to me. Did I even hesitate paying the late fee? No.
Second, I have been to many mwcs where I have arrived on time before wilson or whoever ran it arrived and they didn’t start it on time. This is not a cheapshot to the tourney organizers, just you twisting what i’m saying and not understanding where i’m coming from. TY to wilson and sabre/you for even running this and keeping it alive, i am grateful. You don’t call yourself the king of hate for nothing, i’m done discussing this, it’s not that serious/black (fugee what’s good?)

Wow, ST was bananas. :looney: The sticks were somewhat questionable (lots of people kept getting random jumps), but I think for the most part they were OK. For sure though hella fools were off their game, for whatever reason.
In the singles tourney, s-kill, Wes, Dream, Justin, and myself all got peaced out earlier than I think anyone expected, and nohoho repped Blanka to the max.
Northeast vs. Midwest was straight up RAPE!!
SBO qualifiers was MAD close…came down to the last match. Maybe even last round? I can’t remember…I blacked out.

I’m not actually referring to you, I’m referring to Marvel players who have been consistently late over and over at multiple events. They know who they are. I hope this event was a lesson to them.
Also, it’s easy to say that you’re not having problems with sticks when you win. I’m guilty of the same sin, I love to complain when I’m losing but when I’m winning I seem to forgive all the things that go wrong. The sticks at MWC were questionable not because they didn’t work, but because the vast majority of players are accustomed to Japanese sticks, because we all bought Hori sticks when we adapted to console. This resulted in us jumping all over the fucking place and not blocking low. Does this translate well to SBO?
To be honest, no. At SBO apparently you can request American sticks? I hope so. Because at SBO it seems you play on Japanese sticks and the controls are so vastly different from what we played on at Midwest, it’s night and day. I hope that Justin and Nick have mastered that control scheme by then, because I know I certainly didn’t before this shindig. I didn’t play on a single american stick and I paid for it.
The only solution is to settle on a standard version and a standard control scheme. This will never happen. and STHD is on the way and will replace ST. So let’s just do the right thing and move on.

Super Turbo day was awesome.
Nohoho pretty much called the Midwest vs. Northeast team tourney when he predicted Doyle going on a big run. When he finally lost, Damdai bulldozed the remaining people. My favorite part were the jokes people were cracking while it was going on (Keits is officially a riot, by the way):
For Josh – “Hey, is that World Heroes over there?!” (joke attempt at distracting him) There was also a joke about “Punch her in the toes!” (c.MK, the match was Boxer vs. Chun Li) which quickly morphed into several other inappropriate jokes about punching her in other places too.
For Humbag – I was saying various references like, “Happy Cat rave!” and “Charge Ken’s laser!” between rounds, but I don’t think he knew who I was or could even hear me, haha.
For Damdai – Multiple jabs at online scrubdom, e.g. “See me online!”, “This stuff’s supposed to have 4 frames of input delay!”, “If it ain’t online, it ain’t real!”, and on and on…
In the singles tournament, nohoho’s Blanka was completely bananas, featuring weird anti-air headbutts and scratches, hop forward into vertical ball, and more zaniness. Damdai had many epic moments, including reversal 360’ing Honda’s hand slap TWICE with zero health remaining and grabbing Blanka out of his super with the rushing grab. And Immortal’s Claw was the dark horse and spoiler that nobody really wanted to have to play against.
The 2v2 tournament came down to the last round of the last game, so that was awesome too.
Sorry for scrubbing it up with anyone I played against – I knew I was toast a week beforehand when I tested myself on bat sticks and felt terrible. My Guile played even worse than it usually does, with an especially passive, stiff, and undynamic style, like some sort of zombie.

I still suck at arcade 3s but hopefully next year those convertors will solve all the problems.
Overall the sticks were perfect its just that Im slow as dirt on them.

I was there all 3 days from open to close. MWC was short on people this year but it is always one of the best run events I go to every year, so keep up the great work, and I’ll see you guys next year.

Match vids from Northeast vs. Midwest team battle.
Most fun I’ve had playing ST was at this tournament. Crowd was great, players were great. So many good players, I was like a kid in a candy store. Wes, Jesse, NKI, DreamTR, Seth Killian, DSP, was very nice meeting you. All great players and cool dudes. East vs. West team battle couldn’t have been scripted better. Nohoho, meeting you in the singles winner’s final warmed my heart…before you ripped it out of my chest with blanka’s teeth. Let’s try and save some for SBO quals next year though!
Raisin, Littlemac, and all the other super sundays guys, was great to finally meet you. John Rambo, good to see you, cool dude, wish you came to NY more. That honda vs. zangief match was a real nail biter, hope someone got it on video. Chris Doyle, your reaction speed and ability to make those split second decisions is uncanny.
