I was one of the late people. I didn’t mind paying the late fee since i was late, but it’d be nice if there was a notice that said if you’re late you’re gonna have to pay.
And how’s this for a reason: i’ve been going to mwc every year since 2001 and marvel has never started on time. it’s always at least an hr late. Stop hating on marvel players.
Are you serious? You really don’t think that Marvel players deserve the hate? 
If the Marvel players actually showed up on time, MvC2 would have started on time at EVERY Midwest, and probably EVERY tournament period. It is an alarming pattern that Marvel players are consistently late if a tournament doesn’t start after 3pm. They are no longer going to receive special treatment at any event that Jason Wilson or myself run, as it is inconsiderate to both the organizers and the players who are on time and want to get the shit over with.
For the record, the vast majority of players were on time for their games, including Smash and CvS2 which both also had 11am start times. Marvel was the only event where only 2 people were present at the allotted start time. If you can give me a valid reason why the other 15 people weren’t here, please do. If people hadn’t shown up by noon, we were going to cancel it altogether, so you should just be happy that it happened at all.
NO MORE SPECIAL TREATMENT. If you show up late, you either don’t get in, or you pay extra. Period. Learn to be responsible adults like everyone else.
The money went to a good cause - to help fund the SBO qualifying team’s trips - so if you have a gripe with that, you are an even bigger dick than me.
