Hey it’s Brent/immortal the Vega player. Thanks to the tourney hosting crew for another awesome arcade tournament. I missed out when y’all tested the console sticks in the arcade machines but I’m already looking forward to seeing this next year. One or two people I asked made it sound like a good success in the testing.

I met all sorts of new folks this year. I’m usually bad about getting real social and greeting new people at these events but everyone was so friendly and good competition this year. Thanks to Jesse Howard/John Rambo/Nohoho/NKI/Chris Doyle/DSP and a few others for putting up with me so much on ST all weekend. At least it seems like I played and/or chatted with you all a good ammount on Friday & Saturday.

Congrats to all the tournament winners and especially the SBO team winners.

Sabre for some reason I really didn’t make the effort to meet you yet. That will be one of my assignments for next year or if I hit Evo this year.

See y’all next year hopefully.

I almost forgot… team Midwest knows it got robbed. Revenge will come. Can I go ahead and already predict how badly team East Coast will get SMASHED next year at some form of ST whether it be original or Remixed. :smile:

We seriously appreciate that. Rest assured that 100% of the money from all tournaments that were announced, as well as all of the money from side events donated, were applied to the SBO qualifier winners. Even if I found the money in my pocket at 11:14 PM last night. It’s all good, we’ll figure it out :wgrin:

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported MWC once again. It’s been 14 years running so far, and anyone that has not come out and experienced nickel craziness before really has no idea what they are missing. I can’t send shoutouts to everyone, but without your support, there would be no tourney.

Main shoutouts to:

Seth Killian for basically being the ultimate support for MWC, which is infinitely appreciated.

John Choi for allowing us to run SBO quals. Wizard for getting us consoles and games on time.

Sabre and DSP for sacrificing themselves for this tournament once again. This tournament was as smooth as it ever has been because of you guys.

I hope everyone makes it again next year. We plan on having ALL of the tournament games running with the option to use arcade sticks or PSX controllers. We tested them this year and they do work well, so now it’s just a bit more tweaking to get these in bulk so EVERYONE can play!

Good luck to the SBO teams in Japan, and thanks again to everyone for another great year!

Thanks to you guys giving us space for arcana, we had 3 arcana tourneys in 1 weekend, all were hype and serious matches, with dvr assist and mic so be on the lookout for some godlike quality vids from MWC. Of course shit wouldn’t be as hype without the players, so thanks to Midwest for supporting arcana to the fullest, especially Chicago. Its safe to say that this was the best arcana event in the USA to date. We had the largest crowd at MWC out of all the games at several times thru the weekend… It was almost like MWC was animevo lolol

Thanks to Texas for keeping arcana crazy hype too. You are all so good at ah2 much respect.

I hate to say it to the rest of USA super turbo players but ice been saying damdai was good in st for a few months now. So its really no surprise. We actually met up online before I played him irl and we live in the same city so lol.

Congrats to fred on winning st for the NY area big ups man I won’t be so pissed off when I lose to you anymore.

Jesse Howard…man…our match was too ducking intense and down to the wire. Good shit man. I really thought you were dead but you fell out of my super. I’m sad that you got second because I was definetly gunning for that place myself practicing on ggpo so good stuff

Guys from Idiana- forgot your names (I think one was ghetto on the rise) anyways good to see you guys got better in 3S and ST.

All of Michigan- Grego, Rusteezy, Antoine/Alucard, VDO & bro., and guy with thin cornrows. Good shit in pretty much everything everything.

And finally ppl I didn’t get to play this year.

Dream and Sabre, you guys were to busy running stuff, did play your pal from Arizona I think it was, forgot his name, wore a cap all weekend.

NKI- you were jumping around too much between the 3 ST cabs.

Dark Geese- Wanted to play some NGBC but you were to busy running all the SNK stuff.

Buk- got few games with you, like 2 or 3 but not enough.

DSP- Got some games in, you sat at the table a lot, & the 4 way ST was way too random. Oh and Bruce Campbell was way too glorified on that shirt. AoD is a great movie but a six pack!? C’mon.

A bunch of diffirent ST ppl- Nohoho, John Rambo, Chrish Doyle, Damdai. I feel like bettering my Blanka, and especially Gief now. Godamn

This is the AH2 competition we were looking for. Chicago, NYC, and Texas is running this game free.

Sabre: You’re an old man. I wise old man. I tempted fate in ST and A2. Damn, you’ve got years on me. Great meeting you. I heard you run V-Cody in A3, so that’s a challenge indeed. I guess my account will still be active until I beat you in tourney.

Buktooth: Arturo carries his house in his pockets. Also, one match from playing you in CvS2 tourney.

Anyway, it was pretty fun and I enjoyed the Nickel experience. It was my first time and it was a very well organized tourney. Games starting on time and running smoothly is a first for me.

regardles of being posted months ago, has it ever been on a saturday not in the morning? this only my 2nd mwc and 2nd tourney in general and so I don’t know. is it possible to change it? just curious. there would have been a few more people in the tourney if it was around that time.

$45 from the Melty/Arcana side tournies were given to sbo. I know it’s not that much, but every little bit helps. Good luck to all with the donations. I had a lot of fun, thanks to the organizers for putting together a fun event, since this is my last big tourney in the US for a while, i’m very pleased with how it went, and it was one of the most fun weekends ever.
