He has a real boy ADD/ADDF now so that helps a lot. His zoning tools are actually threatening with hit boxes that are more threatening than what he had in 3. Likely not going to be top tier, but more likely he’ll actually be on more than 2 or 3 people’s teams.
RayRay doubting Ryu, KBR doubting Hulk/Haggar…for shame. This is a game of faith. Believe in your main and you will find some broke shit with them. Mark my words, all the Ultron/CM spam will get blown up after SCR when people actually have lab time. Only ones getting creative so far are Fchamp and LIJoe.
People are sleeping on Brand. This little bastard is still sick. KBR is right to double Hulk/Haggar right now. Maybe as we get used to the playstyle options.
As dead set as I was to go full Nemesis I immediately backed off of that shit. It’s a brave new world.
They actually do scale unlike MvC3, and the scaling is pretty severe, but they seem to be the only attacks that still have a minimum scaling buffer.
Like for example, in LI Joe’s long-ass 200+ hit combo with Ultron, it seems that the very last hit will always do around 1000 damage.
Also a lot of characters seem to have unblockable grabs as Level 3s, like Thanos and I think Frank?
Speaking of installs, which can someone tell me what Dantes Devil Trigger does for him in this game? Matter of fact is there a list of what does what and how long they last?
Is there anywhere where I can look up like the basics of this game or like the common terms or wording for mvc games? Like I have no idea what you guys mean wth terms like “level 3 super”, level 3 grab", “bursts” etc.
Half of this isn’t relevant any more but it’s good place to start, there’s still plenty of notation that you’ll come across in this article that’s worth understanding down the line.
Seems like it does almost the same thing it does in 3, just like all of the activation supers the timer length that you can use it has been buffed. Zero’s Sogenmu lasts twice as long and Astral Vision lasts nearly twice as long also.
Yeah I did a stopwatch count of the activation times for install supers between 3 and Infinite. Zero’s Sogenmu now lasts 10 seconds instead of 5 and Astral Vision now lasts 18 seconds instead of 10. I would imagine most of the other returning installs are similar.
Which now that supposedly Zero can do midscreen lightning loops now that means you get an even longer subscription to NetFlux.
Other random stuff I found from watching the new Beginner’s video is that whenever you lose your first character you get 50 percent storm meter. Which means the gems are designed to force somewhat of a comeback.
Also found out that Time Storm also rapidly reduces the cooldown time for active switches. You can tag back into the character you just tagged out immediately as there’s no long cooldown where they stay on screen. Once you hit tag the other character immediately starts flying off screen.
If this works during hit/block counter switches then it could make you especially strong even if you’re being pressured or hit during the storm as it will be nearly impossible for them to hit your tagged out character during a counter switch.
Could also set up absolutely ridiculous tag duo rushdown and zoning.
Since dead character gives 50% bar, i would wager for mind stone its best to activate right away when you get your your first 50% meter filled, that way you can always effectively have 2 activations per round(second being when the first character eats it) gaining maximum amount of meter.
You don’t need the max length of the stones bar, theoretically anyway since once you get to 4 bars of meter its usefulness its greatly diminished.
Yeah Mind Storm would probably be the one stone where you want to activate immediately since it’s just a passive buff to your meter gain and doesn’t really do anything neutrally.
I think the full duration matters more for stuff like gimlet bot Hawkeye, Dormammu blowing all the meter, and Firebrand with 4 bars of installs at once.
Unless there’s a benefit to unlimited refills it would be best to save it. Obviously Sougenmu or Astral Vision it would be worth immediately activating, but is there any characters who have hypers with invincibility or are plus on recovery? There seems a decent threat to force a character to just sit there knowing that if they flinch they get smacked in the face, at which point it gives you more control in the neutral and even more threat with unlimited refill. Like Dr Strange, fill the screen with shit, if they move just Spell of Vishanti, and if it fails continue to put shit on the screen and go at it.
The best way to get plus supers is to do a super and then tag in. That’s why characters like Captain America or Spencer may be low key strong in mind storm because they have supers with strong ass properties that you can just throw out and then tag if they get blocked. If they hit you can likely tag into combos also.
I duno way I see it, get that first 50%, dump all your bar(you’re fishing, but fishing still works!), activate right away get all that bar back. When one of your guys dies do it again right away. The bars fill very quick and you obviously can’t go past 4, so even when the stone is only exactly half full you can still get 4 bars out of it easily with plenty of time left over to spare if you wanna do an install or something during it which won’t pause it.
Working it out that way, Mind stone is just effectively you having 8 or more bars over your opponent and that seems good enough to me.
