I agree with everything that Din0 said.
All of magnetos actual combos are on par with some of the most difficult stuff of the other top tiers.
For instance a basic magneto (ground magic) MH addf H cr.h S j.h adf H (flyloop) is A TON harder for the same amount of damage that Wesker or Wolverine can do with 1 COMMAND COMBOS (Wesker abc 236b~c j.S bcs j.BBCS otg gun doing ~48% and being braindead, Logans BnB relaunch doing 46% and making you lose brain function everytime you do it)
I just hope some of his Magnetic Blast combos still work…
I’m sure they will, Magnetic Blast is the only move in his arsenal that generates a decent amount of frame advantage on block, and you have to be in a proper position to do it which keeps things balanced. Considering it gives 22+ frame advantage (which is no minor amount) and it doesnt put you in to recovery after using it, it’s obviously meant to be used in this fashion =)

For people saying rom is inconsistent, doing 1- 2 regular rom reps then switching to medium addf heavy is extremely easier and carries them to the corner for the dhc glitch just as good. Fchamp does it all the time.You can still do grav loops after too. Even with my shitty noob execution ( first fighting game was Sf4) I never drop this variation.

Hey guys, I’m having a little trouble with this corner combo that Marn and Marlinpie do all the time. It goes like this:
c.:l::h::s: j.:h: addf j.:h: s.:h::s: jump j.:h:addf j.:h::h: xx Hyper Gravitation
Everything is easy until the second addf j.:h:, which for some reason won’t land. Is there a certain trick to connecting this?
hit j.:h: as soon as you can, slight pause, then addf j.:h:. both reps of the “loop”. does the standing :s: whiff after the first j.H addf blah blah? you might have to wait a bit until they get low enough to the ground before you relaunch.
alternatively, you can also do j.:h: addf j.:h: s.:h: xx hyper grav, :s:, j.:h: addf j.:h: s.:h: xx hyper grav, which is what I do.
you get almost the same damage and it makes it 100x easier

I was wondering how u plink dash. I was watching this tutorial of plink dashing but I didn’t understand him. He said u press 2 punches, any attack, and plink? Plink what? Also I wanted to ask this to magneto players just because there might be a specific preference or safer way. I don’t know. I was facing toan’s mag and he just destroyed me. His team just destroyed me. He told me its about walk speed. So I guess I should learn to plink instead of wave dashing since wave only works on the ground. I thought to fly fast in the air u just dash fast. Also I noticed that he was able to punish me full screen using fly. Also he was able to follow up after the grab in the air.
Following up with that is easy once you learn how to control him. After that air throw, all I do is fly then :l:~:m:~:h: up-forward then cancel that with :l:~:m:~:s: down forward or whatever your plinking preference is.
Magneto can cancel any of his dashes into a normal and cancel his normals into dashes, so you’re just plinking :l:~:m:~:h: repeatedly to dash in the air really quickly. It helps A LOT with mobility and being able to punish things.
found you can actually do 3 reps of j.H addf j.H s.H xx hyper grav. not a huge leap damage-wise and the timing on the third rep (which requires you to do add instead of addf to allow the full hitbox of s.H to come out) is pretty tricky but it’s possible.
I need to lay off the magneto and practice viper and doom for a change. lol. this character is too much damn fun to just play around and experiment with
Can u please tell me exactly how to do it on the fight stick? I don’t understand the icons. Also I don’t think I understand how to plink. Is it like street fighter 4 in which u do the H then piano the L and M while holding down the H? I’m not sure what plinking is. It’s supposed to be like kara canceling which is something I don’t know as well. I want to be able to do like 6 dashes in flight. A more detailed description would really help.
It’s similar to SSF4 plinking. The best way I learned how to do it (before doing it in a line, which I found more problematic until I got used to it) is:
during flight, above air dash height, do (I’m assuming you’re on P1 side): :uf::l:+:m:+:h: ~ :df::l:+:m:+:h: xN
Start slowly but not that slow. Once you get it, you’ll be able to get like 15 dashes in 1 flight activation as you increase your speed more and more.
The icons are the in-game attack buttons. Light = :l: Medium = Heavy =:h:
Wait I still don’t know where the plinking comes into play. Are u hitting H then pianoing with M, L? I couldn’t do it on the ground but in the air I think I did it? U said l+m+h so just hit it all at once?
I press them all at once and it works for me, I usually end up plinking unintentionally

Viper/Mag/Doom team combo- 840k+ damage. really pretty combo because it uses launches with assists and hyper gravs to bring them back down. also requires you to do your hyper grav loops faster as you’re pretty much flirting with hitstun decay once you get to around 30+ hits. note the SJC into fierce hyper grav at the end as well. can’t record a video right now so I’ll just type this out from memory for now:
c.:l:, c., c.:h:, [:s:, j.:h:, addf, j.:h:, s.:h: xx jab hyper grav]x2, [SJ, addf, j.:h:, s.:h: xx jab hyper grav]x2, SJ, addf, j.:h:, s.:h: xx fierce hyper grav+Viper seismo assist, [SJ addf, j.:h:, s.:h: xx jab hyper grav]x2, SJ, addf, j.:h:, s.:h: xx hyper grav+Doom missiles assist, SJ, addf, j.:h:, s.:h: xx jab hyper grav, s.:h:, :s: xx fierce hyper grav (SJC), Magnetic Tempest.
I also managed to get up to 48 hits with a “raw” hyper grav loop-- magic series into launch, j.H addf j.H, s.H into hyper grav loop. if you do your loops fast enough at the latter parts of the loop you CAN push the hitstun decay to its limits. you’ll know if you’re doing a fast hyper grav rep if Mags looks like he’s hitting the opponent with two standing fierces during the addf j.H s.H part.
faster grav loops are also very important for your throw and tridash game since you’ll be more familiar with the height at which you can tridash as soon as possible.
