i too am annoyed with everyone calling it rom. yeah he found the infinite in mvc2. this isn’t an infinite, this isn’t mvc2, this isn’t even close to the same combo, and it wasn’t found by rom. yeeeesh!

Okay I borrowed a bit from Alioune and used magnet blast in the combo as well somethin else
:s: j:h: adf j:h: Magnetic Blast :l: s:h: qcb:l: s:h: :s: j:h: adf j:h: j:s: OTG Samurai Edge Assist qcb:l: sjc addf j:h: s:h: (x2-3 depending on size. Works on almost everyone. Haven’t tested on Arthur or Sentinel yet.) xx Gravity Squeeze cr.:h: for 988k.
Not too bad and you can use that grav loop in almost any situation, which is why it’s such a god like (and easy) move.
EDIT:
The combo works on Ammy and Arthur. Still working on Sentinel. He keeps dropping after the 15th hit.
I’m thinking it’s a timing issue.
*EDIT: It was a timing issue. Note that the smaller/bigger the characters get, the stricter the timing will be.
For some reason I can’t get the j.H after the unfly for the life of me, is there a specific timing to it?

Any other great fly combos to do besides the fly loop?
Trim out the j.M’s from your fly combo and you can get more damage, build more bar, and put them in the corner faster. Essentially, you want them in the corner as fast as possible so you can transition the combo into the Hyper Gravitation loop.
Just thought I’d contribute a fly combo which I use as my midscreen bnb:
Anything into launch, j:h:, addf, j:h:, land, s:s:, (wait till the opponent is really high up - this is key, otherwise the opponent will stay at where they got hit while mag’s upward momentum still carries him up higher than the opponent and the rest of the combo will break), j:m:, j:h:, adf, j:h:, flight, j:l:, j:m:, j:h:, dash, (j:m:, j:h:, dash) x 2, j:m:, j:m:, j:h:, j:s:
IMO this combo is infinitely easier than ROM, magnetic blast loops, or fly fierce loops and the damage is respectable (500k-530k depending on what you did before launch).
For those learning fly fierce loops though, the higher they are after j:m:, j:h:, flight, the more room you have for them to fall while doing your :h:'s. I noticed in the matches I’ve seen of Yipes recently, even he doesnt get 6-7 :h:'s during tourneys, just 3-4 and has to do a j:m:, j:h:, to increase opponent height before finishing.
how the hell do i do the FP rom without getting tiger knee hyper grav. this shit would be so easy if hyper grav were a 1/2 circle motion.
That looks like a good and easy combo. Will try it out in the lab!
How much meter does that combo build?
I can do this combo pretty consistently but I feel it’s pretty bad for several reasons:
A) You can’t pull it off if you first hit the combo with multihit-assists such as Dorm, chun, Amy etc
I could pull it off with Sent assist but u need to start with c.H once drones hit or you will drop the combo (which is really bad since you need to hit confirm drones with a chain from c.A)
B) You can’t pull this combo if you pick up from bouncing assists like akuma.
C) If you hit the opponent while he’s in the air with a string to launcher it won’t work either, also you can’t pull it from anti-air 5A, S
However, the rom loop can be done anytime, anywhere.
Once I realized that after mastering this blast loop I started mastering the ROM loop since I know it’s more practical to pull from almost anything. Which is really important to Magneto.
Here’s a combo I did earlier combining magblast with hyper grav loop. Does 989k (Squeezed finish) and around 605k without super.
:s: j:h: ADF j:h: Magnetic Blast :l: Land j:h: ADF j:h: Magnetic Blast cr.:h: :s: j:h: ADF j:h: air:s: [Samurai Edge OTG] Hyper Grav :l: sj xx up/back addf j:h: s:h: [Can be done up to 3 times on big and average sized character. Twice on small characters for roughly 589k.]
hi guys, ive been trying to master magneto but im having trouble with the rom loop… after launching n H addf H i seem to b stuck on thee ground n i cant sj, anyone have any tips for me?
ROM isn’t hard stop pussing out and put in the time to learn it.
All these other combos are a waste of time, you should learn them after you learn rom.
I’m in that same position. Trying to get off the ground. I manage to get it off once ever 10 million times of practicing. I am about 10 seconds from giving up Mags.

question @paper. you made a reply in a previous forum to a guy trying to do the fierce loop with the air dashes. you said something about waiting until you get to the top of the s.j. before hitting them and waiting until the last possible second after addf to input H. is this the way the combo is supposed to be started off or is this simply for posture of the opponent? I have been at this combo for weeks now, researching forums, and the “Good Book” aint helpin. somehow i note that the super jump never comes out after the initial launcher combo, sj + H , addf + H…he just gets planted there. if he does jump its a regular jump.

I dont’ remember the damage exactly… I know the damage was mediocre compared to the advanced combos. The purpose of these is to get the muscle memory down. you’ll proably sacrifice damage for style. Although I must admit, I was taking on X Factor Level 1 and Gravity squeeze for a long time for a pretty easy 2 on 3 battle lol. Love doing that at the beginning of a match. But since i’ve learned the more advanced combos, i’ve learned to do just as much damage while using less meter. I think that’s the point…
Once you learn these you’ll be surprised how quickly you learn the advanced ones. At least thats my opinion…
The problem you guys are having is that you aren’t returning to neutral when you hit the ground. Not sure if thats been mentioned in the tutorials or on here. It came pretty easy for me because I played Mag in Marvel 2, and the easiest way (only way) to consistently do ROM then was to return to neutral before you hit the ground. THEN :d::ub::h: for the super jump H, then ADDF :h:, Neutral, LAND, :d::ub::h: and so on and so forth. I’m sure it can be done by holding the joystick down but I know its a helluva lot easier for me when I return to neutral…
once you air dash downforward let the stick go into a neutral position then press H before you land. Super jump up or up/back and press H.
it’s really once you get the superjump down like us mvc2 people.
also the hypergrav loop should be easy as shit too and you can get it off of any air :h: into standing :h:
do it faster, like a kara throw timing
